Liverpool's transfer policy so far has been baffling. It's the club's one and only chance to play in the CL for a number of seasons but, the new Zidane aside, they seem to be chasing established PL players who have already found their level at clubs that managed to finish below United last season. I don't think players like Remy, Lallana and Lambert will have the European powerhouses quaking.

I agree, strange one of BR to buy average players, unless Liverpool know they are planning to finish 8th or so

To be fair, Brenda is buying players he thinks will fit into his system (false strikers, central wingers etc), but he seems shy of buying anyone with a strong personality who may question him.

I completely agree with you here.
With each new signing they announce, I just find myself saying "Really?!"
They are not bad players, but they arent CL quality imo, at least Remy or Lambert arent.
Remains to be seen what Lallana can do outside of Southampton.

Dont think any of those 3 players have ever played in a European competition have they?

The only signing they have made that I think makes the grade so far is Markovic, he is very good.
The rest seem like squad signings.
If they think Remy and Lambert are going to replace Suarez they are in for a surprise.

They will be looking to Sturridge next season, so they also have to count on him making the step up to be the main man.

I get sick of typing this to other fans, No one can replace Suarez and we alllllllllll know that

What BR is doing is building a decent squad. We had Moses, Aspas, etc on the bench last season ffs

We have to build a good squad with better options.

The signings bar Markovic and Can have all proved they can do it in the Prem. So lets just wait and see what happens next season! Looking forward to it

DR. Stop wasting your energy in this hot weather and just leave the dead horse alone. It's had enough abuse <laugh>

<laugh>

Might just put it in my sig

"The players we buy are not a direct replacement for the Biter"

So we can expect Liverpool to start each game with 10 men this season? <whistle>

I'm being pedantic, I know what you mean. :D

Perhaps a bit unfair to put Lambert in with the other two he's clearly a cheap squad signing, but I agree that I don't really see Remy of Lallana taking us to the next level, more just allowing our squad to better deal with the extra games next season now we're not part-time anymore (there you go UIR).

Of course you can replace him.

Youve done so for most of his time at your club.

110 appearances, 19 matches suspended = supsended for 14.7% of games at Liverpool. Nice one-liner, but mathematically incorrect. #pedantic

(14.7% is still a hell of a lot though <yikes> Data from Wikipedia, so I accept no responsibility for its accuracy...)
