If you're a youngster who's been kicked out of the academy of a bigger club it's probably a pretty good opportunity. You're almost guaranteed first team football at a decent standard, and you've got the chance to shine and earn yourself a move somewhere better. Alternatively, we could loan them all our U21's?
not sure if anyone else recalls but this time last summer they were in a very similar position. i thought they were bankers to come rock bottom. they were in the play off places up until christmas! that early season run ended up keeping them up last season - i doubt they'll do the same this time around. terrible to see clubs run so shabbily.
Finished 2 points above relegation though, if that happens too your team twice in 2 years its incredibly unlikely they survive seem almost nailed on for relegation, assuming they are allowed to start the season.
12 days to go and as far as I am aware they still have only 8 contracted players and no GK. What ever is going on? What happens if this stays the same? Would they be allowed to get away with fielding a team containing kids and local non-league players etc?
It's allowed, Portsmouth did it the year they were relegated to league 2. It's not exactly effective though and they'd be doing it a level higher than Portsmouth too. There is a requirement that you start the season capable to complete all the fixtures so the league would be able to exclude them if they felt Blackpool couldn't do this. They're not going to be able to put a competitive team out though so I'd guess they could be relegated rather efficiently.
