They have 8 players. Pretty much certainties to get relegated.

 

What happened to their EPL millions? I know that they only had one season in the top flight but that money should have secured their future for many years surely ?

 

What a seriously bizarre situation up there. How on earth can a club go from such highs to such lows in such a short amount of time. The owner must have literally bled the club dry of all its earnings from they're premier league stint, the funding from that time should keep a club of that size running nicely if managed correctly.

 

Owner is the son of a convicted rapist. Lots of people need keeping sweet.

 

Makes me more grateful our club is being well managed and looked after.

 

That's a good candidate for a club going into liquidation.

 

I assume they have to prove they're capable of fulfilling the fixtures before the season starts, i.e. have a squad or they'll be kicked out of the league.

 

I don't see the problem. Those Trialist brothers are brilliant!

 

Delia should buy it and build a massive rollercoaster on the site .

 

Looking at their board it would seem that they only have one supporter left as well!!! I wonder how many season tickets they have sold.

 

Talking of season tickets, has anyone seen how many villa have sold... 10k!

 

Were they not in a very similar position this time last year? I'm sure I remember writing them off completely as they only had about 8 players on their books, and then they surprised me last season. Whether they can do the same again this season remains to be seen, things don't appear to have improved.

 

Perhaps we could be charitable - and let them have Wes back?

 

That's a bit harsh though, he can't help who his father is. Being labelled son of a rapist is pretty reprehensible tbh

 

Last team I remember that happening too was Portsmouth after they were relegated to league one. They of course capitulated entirely and were relegated again.

 

Their owner has apparently just said that he is not concerned as the Manager can know bring in his own players to boost the 8 already on the books. The Manager, who is likely to resign, has apparently said that he has tried to do that but is blocked each time by the owner. I doubt if they will be in business by the time we go there in Sept.

 

Blackpool actually won the game 4-0. The Trialist brothers are clearly very talented

 

There is still a long time before the season starts. It will be difficult integrating a fair few players in late pre season. If they go into the first game with 8 players then they are screwed but too soon to write them off.

 

19 days to sign at least 8 players? Who, with any ability, would want to go there? What if, as seems likely, the Manager resigns?
