Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, 25, has wished Angela Merkel a happy birthday on Twitter and thanked the German Chancellor for her support during the World Cup.

What a brown-nosing twat!

French winger Hatem Ben Arfa, 27, is embroiled in a row with Newcastle over his weight, claiming that he has added muscle mass, not fat, and insisting that the club is wrong to fine him. (Daily Mirror)

<doh>
Hasn't the coaching staff at the Toon heard of an 18-pack?

She has to put up with a lot of that from politicians - Ozil is probably far enough up her arse to see David Cameron's ankles

I also read that Ozil donated his winning bonus to kids charities in Brazil - some £350,000. Yeah ok he's hardly going notice it, but he didn't have to do that.

There's been some suggestion that Mohammed Salah may have to do military service.
His alternative option of an education programme has had it's registration rescinded.

Podolski may be on his way to Sevilla. Hasn't impressed during his time at Arsenal, in my opinion.

Ozil hasn't gone backwards, it's just how he plays.

Anyone who thinks he's suddenly going to start scoring a load of goals or closing down all over the pitch is going to be disappointed

Van Gaal isn't happy,he's complaining the training complex is too windy

Already been talking about specific players. Would claim simply in response to questions put to him, but easily enough arranged if you wanted to. Of course ManU never tap up in this way, yet for some reason you don't hear many other managers "answer questions" about players that they might like to have playing for them - outside the Sky4 anyway. Same old same old. Even when those teams (such as Liverpool for many years or ManU this year) are actually *outside* the top 4 they are still treated as if they are in it.

I think he has made an arse of himself there. He acknowledges that Arsenal have said they didn't want Fabregas, so yeah, of course it's an easy conversation.

I think he's just trying to bait Wenger into saying something stupid. Time will tell if there's any silly reaction, but I don't think this will work.
