Just been informed that Paddy Whacks in town has gone under and closed down. Best bar none for pre and post match drinks in the centre of the town. Best memory of the place. will be the day the skunks went down and the irish bloke(seamus) and his band had a good hours sing song DOON TOON. Along with moving seats next year ill have to find a new watering hole. Any suggestions?
I'm shocked, always seemed one of the busier bars and is quite unique compared to all the other bars in town. And the bar staff don't f**k about like some places standing waiting for half an hour then they serbe some c**t who's just turned up.
Could it be a contributing factor? http://www.sunderlandecho.com/lifes...pull_the_plug_on_illegal_tv_matches_1_3128786
Can't see it closing like...It takes plenty of money, so must be solely down to bad business management why it is in financial trouble.
Its owned by the same guy who owns the Glass Spider, Queen Vic, Pulman Lodge and a few others - they must be under another part of his empire.
Probably shouldnt say this but here goes, doesnt the owner owe the taxman 250 grand from this particular venture? may be wrong but sure i read that in the echo. If this is true he may just have an accountant who has given him advice on how to avoid paying. Hopefully will reopen in the near future. Good pub, live music, usually full. Cannot be losing money as a stand alone pub.
thats a pisser seemingly a another nail in the coffin for working musicians ...played many a good gig at Paddys
I was in there watching 'that away game' up the road last season. Wish the ****er had closed beforehand. Lol
I was inside castle grey skull and there's a picture of me and the 10 remaining Sunderland fans with about 5 mins on a skunk website, wasn't too chuffed with our fans that day but that's a different story. Truly shocking day, but least I had a pi** outside st hotch potch cos the buses didn't have toilets.
