Morning Everyone, When looking at our four disciplines :- Goalkeeper Defence Midfield Forwards Put them in order of strongest - weakest and compare against the squad we have at this very moment to what we had last season!!! Our weakest area last season for me had to be our midfield. We were unable to retain the ball!!! If you can't keep the ball, you end up chasing it!!! By Christmas the players were knackered. True??? Was it down to lack of skill in keeping the ball or lack of fitness? Now that Captain Ross is strutting his stuff in London, who should be Captain? Can you think of any alternatives to Pearce? What do we expect our home attendances to average out to be over next season. Over the last few years the averages have been as follows :- 2011/12 23,379 2012/13 21,572 2013/14 25,088
Morning Elland and all. Midfield last season was virtually non existent and caused the lions share of our problems imo. Hard to sort the captain thing. It has to be someone who will play in most games and I doubt if we can pick anyone out yet who we can definitely say that about without Perce being most likely. As for attendances, Im mildly surprised we averaged over 25k last season. A fantastic achievement give the rubbish on offer. If team is better this year, which I believe it will be, well improve on that again
Morning all I think it's too easy to point the finger at midfield (Even though it's correct) The problems start with the manager ..... how the hell can we be in the top 6 all season up to November, and then collapse to worse than relegation fodder? A season of 2-halves whereby the first part saved us from going down with the lowest points tally in history. Severe problems at that club, which will take time to resolve, although MC seems to be starting the refit.
Morning Doc, I think part of the problem with GFH is that they were scared to make decisions, especially ones that may upset the fans, whereas Cellino is a business man.
Good sunny morning to Matt and co I think the whole defence was not balanced properly coupled with the fact that we had no pace down either wings and a lacklustre team who seemed to have no energy Have we sorted this out NO we still need some wingers with pace and guile to unlock defences and give Matt some quality centres I suggested Pearce so I will stick to that Will we miss Ross well did Burnley miss Austin if we can find an adequate replacement then no I have suggested we get Burke from Brum on a free and move him inside he has guile can cross a ball and can score goals .Why not give him a try Thed other wingers for pace see him destroy Forest in the cup Jamie Murphy 250k and an old favourite of mine Dale Jennings from Barnsley for 300k .This boy had everything when he was sold to Bayern for £1m but he was up against Ribery and Robben well I think anyone would have struggled to get in the team ahead of those two He started very poorly at Barnsley but recently he has started to get better at 21 he could be a very inspired signing I spoke to Oggie about him he told me that Town had tried to sign him but he wanted too much well maybe he now realises that money is not everything . I thing that Murphy will show us how good he can be as for the crowd attendance that will depend on results and who we get through that door Finally we must get a marque signing my nomination is............................................................................................ Guedetti a young striker with lots of talent £1.5m will get him!
Morning from sunny Harrogate. Another topic for debate this morning: Given that both mighty and ringo have cried off from the Millwall meet up how plastic are they?
I think Ringo and Mighty go to more games than the entire Leeds not606ers put together - except nobby cos he's well ard
Rossini has given a statement on his transfer situation, expressing gratitude to Leeds for his brief stay in the camp. He told Calciomercato: ‘I feel the need to thank Leeds United and the figures of president Cellino and sporting director Nicola Salerno for the proposal and for the hospitality received in the retreat in recent days.' ‘With deep regret I am unable to accept a transfer to this prestigious club of which I would be honoured to be a part.' ‘The reasons are strictly personal and do not relate to contractual issues nor approval of the destination.' ‘I sincerely wish Leeds good luck with the hope that our paths will cross again in the future.’
Seems like a polite enough young guy Elland, obviously not wanting to go to war with MC, as he may need him in a couple of years.
Also seems as if he was offered a contract by Leeds but turned it down - not contractual or personal so must have been Leeds didn't meet his ambition with your other signings!!
