From Phil Hay Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 12m Cellino on McCormack sale: "He's a bloody good player but he didn't respect me. It wasn't possible for me to keep him." #lufc Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 10m Cellino: "We're losing 15 goals a season, not 30. It wasn't planned that he would go but we will sign players, that was certain anyway." Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 11m Cellino: "He didn't turn up for pre-season (tour), he didn't want to be here. We got a very good price." #lufc Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 8m I asked Cellino if he would reinvest the money: "The players we're going to buy, we were buying anyway. So we need another forward." #lufc Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 7m Transfer news: according to Cellino, goalkeeper Marco Silvestri has now been signed from Chievo on a four-year deal. #lufc Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 6m Cellino also says that midfielder Tommaso Bianchi has joined on a three-year deal from Sassulo, with the option of another year. #lufc Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 5m Cellino said he is in talks with Swiss-born centre back Jonathan Rossini and is confident of signing him from Sassuolo. #lufc Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 4m Nicola Salerno (Cellino's sporting director at Cagliari) is joining Leeds for the next two years. He at the training camp in Italy atm.
Glad we are getting some younger good players in, the one I really want to sign is Catania`s center back Bellusci. Would be a great player for us and Leeds fans would love the way he plays, a massive coup for the club as well. MOT
Seems like good positive stuff, just waiting to see some of these on the OS now confirmed and then I'll start to feel much better about the way our close season is going
Its feast or famine with leeds fans! Good to see the mood improving but personally I'm not too excited yet. I don't know much about these players, I know a little about a few we've been linked with who I'd be pleased with. The ones so far don't float my boat especially but who knows. I'll give them a chance and judge them on what I see, like any other signing. They aren't setting their own league on fire, but then neither have any of our signings from over here in the last few years. It's not like we're going to be a big draw for young Italian starlets. Case of fingers crossed.
It's a case of having to Milky(giving them a chance). I think a lot of us aren't over excited about the new players or manager, but we have to give them a chance, if we are near the bottom come christmas, well that may change the mood. But yes the positive vibes on here makes a change.
We've signed two former italian u21's, not loaned but signed. They are currently 26 and 22. Pardon me lads if I feel a little positive, doesn't happen often
Don't worry Eire. Get yourself up to a chemist's near Beeston. They'll proscribe you some tablets for all this positivity. That'll cure you!!!
Isn't tom lees a young English ex u21? I'm joking. Let's hope the optimism is well founded and long lasting.
Feeling very positive today, but we've really got to keep a lid on the optimism. We're rebuilding. We won't sign any ready-made world beaters. We won't get promoted & will probably struggle to make the top half of the table. It's always the same when you make the massive changes we're making. We also face the additional communications problems both on & off the field with so many of the players not speaking english. Management must guard against cliques & promote teamwork. Still got my fingers crossed though! I'll take any surprises I can that might come our way!
good afternoon Neil not always true what you say look at Watford 2 seasons ago took at least 9 players from Italy and got into playoffs its all about gelling bonding etc I for one think what we did today was great business as I think Ross will struggle to live up to his star billing now and small crowds If we can get some good strikers and wingers in now who knows still like Burke on a freebie and Guedetti
