Just watched NA's first interview on canaries player. First of all he gets my vote as he referred to pilkington as pilks rather than pilky as hughton used to, don't know why i just found it odd. Mostly his stressing of the importance of team spirit was particularly encouraging, that really did carry us through to promotion before with the late goals and was perhaps lost under hughton. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this next chapter pans out as he seems to have his head screwed on and is saying a lot of encouraging things about pre seasons, seems prepared for potential departures without alienating people too early. Hopefully his positivity and assured nature on interview can be transmitted to the squad as it adjusts to the championship!
According to reports by Paddy Divot - NA has said "It doesn’t necessarily mean because we have brought in two forwards, two have to leave. I want to keep everyone here if I can,”
To enlarge on JR's quote, Here's more: “It doesn’t necessarily mean because we have brought in two forwards, two have to leave. I want to keep everyone here if I can,” he said. “The reality is you might not be able to keep everyone because they all can’t get a game. People may assume players have to leave. They don’t. They are here for pre-season and they will all look to compete. Of course, there might come a time when perhaps one or two want to leave. As the manager of this club right now I want them all fighting for a place in the team and that is what pre-season is all about.” Interesting.
Lewis Grabban also has some interesting things to say about his career and the chance he has now at City: “It is massive for me to get this opportunity to come and play for Norwich and hopefully push for the Premier League. It is a big opportunity. I will work hard on the pitch, I am a team player and I generally try to give everything for the club. I’ve settled in well and the lads have been very welcoming. “I knew a couple of them anyway. I knew Surs (Andrew Surman) from his time at Bournemouth and when he was a bit younger, Elliott Bennett and Russell Martin. The squad is very strong and I think we can go straight back up. The first thing you notice is the quality we have here.”
