in the end 80mil to 60 mil if you even believed a single headline number is 20mil gap and so there is no way this is going to be done "by the end of the weekend" the press have it as usual worgn as they try to one up each other.. .then they'll all start again next monday like this week never happened and hunter, ballauge, smith et al will be all pretending to be the guy with the inside track. <yawn>

He was capable of taking 2/3 players out the game (with skills not bites) and leave so much room for others Im obv hoping we get others who are tricky and fast going forward etc but no one can replace him like for like Never good selling your best player
yup, even when he was ineffective in games it was because there were 2 or 3 players constantly marking him, leaving room for other of our players.

eventually, no, we all knew deep down, but situation we got in its just ****e to be honest, and i was hoping for at least a season in cl and build on what we got last season with him as he would help attract players. like i keep saying, 2 steps forward and 3 back with this club, its why we have not won the title for so ****ing long, and it needs to change! you need quality players to help attract quality players, we are well past the stigma attached to playing for this club sadly.

look once gerrard retires we will improve you can't think solely a torres or a suarez will on their won improve it all then stick crap around him... 90% of our buys are young talent now. we've a decent outfit that adding some more young talent too can drive achievement. I look more to the manage to push it along and force the players he's got to perform week in and week out. the reality is we've at best lost 15 goals a season and some game changing performances.. but who knows.. sturridge can get 25 goals.. we need another 25 goal man.
In pure footballing terms I'd agree with you, obviously. However, I don't think he can control himself and he'll do something stupid which might just bugger his career, then he'll go from a prize asset to a worthless burden. If he goes to Barca, he could probably get away with biting Felipe VI's arm off whereas here, he'll get the book thrown at him next time he flashes a smile. Reluctantly therefore, I think we have to let him go while he's still going to fetch a ridiculous amount of money. I'll still be sad to see him go, though.
