Building it off the pitch as well as on it. Seems like he's being allowed to create what he wants around him as well as the playing staff.

Another Man U old boy comes in, so does his brother-in-law, and there's no place for Bellamy at the club - that could be significant on its' own regarding Ole's intent upon not having his mangerial authority questioned.

At least he can't complain about owner interference at this level. He's being given all the rope he wants to either pull it together or just hang himself.

Maybe, just maybe, Ole isn't just the little boy impressionist that he portrays and has got a real steel behind that facade. Just hope he can get it to work early in the season and we're not going to suffer from new direction fallout for a few months.
 
"and there's no place for Bellamy at the club" - This gives the impression that he was kicked out and unwanted, something which the WalesonLine headline deliberately misleads you into believing - then you read on. Reading quotes from Bellamy this is far from the case. He expressed a wish to go off and do his own research and eventually find a route into management.

“I plan to visit lots of football club, home and abroad, look at training in different sports, to broaden my knowledge. Then, when the management opportunity comes, I will be as fully prepared as possible.”
 
Iggy, When I read " By Steve Tucker " I sort of knew it would be misleading.

I think he probably was....if he (Bellers) wanted to find a route into management then surely his No. 1 opportunity would have been on the coaching staff at Cardiff....clearly he wasn't offered that.
 
Agree the emphasis of Tucker's wording appears to be ambiguous, but it depends upon which tilt you prefer to believe. Was it really Craig's choice not to take up some sort of role at the club, or was it that Ole did make the decision that there was no place at the club for Bellamy?

Take it any way you wish, but Tucker quoting this from Ole could be just political speak to soften the situation.........

But Solskjaer has ruled out a role for Bellamy within the club.

“Craig is still thinking about the next step for him and what he wants to do next,” said Solskjaer.

“There is not currently a role he will be filling at Cardiff City. Craig is very keen to learn as he told me the last time we spoke about things.

“What he wants to do now is follow his own path and that will be elsewhere. There is still plenty for him to learn, but Craig can be a success in management I have no doubts about that.”
 
Sparky.....re: interference from 'above'...can't believe with his premiership experience Ole would have actually picked the teams fielded last year.
 
Look at it from another angle. We are a stepping stone. If Ole leaves City which inevitably he will for whatever reason he'll take all his trusted backroom staff with him, leaving us to rebuild yet again. The empire you refer too Spark is one I have mentioned many times, it's called Tanchester United, a homage to the Old Trafford brand.

As far as Tanchester Utd is concerned, if it it's a case of "The Empire Strikes Back", then let's give it go next season and support it rather than run it down all the time. <ok>
 
Having Bellamy as a number 2 is a prospect that any manager would want to avoid. For all his qualities Bellamy is not the ideal person to take instruction and you could easily imagine a falling out very soon into a partnership. Bellamy would be better off managing a team in League 2 possibly agreeing to playing a couple of games so that his attraction to any future employer is enhanced.
 
All my thoughts after Sparkey's first post have been covered.

We must be positive and supportive going into the new season and trust that Ole's players, methods, ideas and support team bring the desired results.

Interesting times as usual at CCFC.

Any source for that bold claim? I presume it was sarcasm.
