Of course not only press hacks claiming they knew before the ink was dry have said actual numbers

70mil foreign, 120 mil domestic

It's all supposition, just as every press hack got it wrong before. When Suarez and his agent disclose we will know

But I expect an undisclosed fee as Barca seem not to have to tell anyone per neymar... Not ffp not tax man.... I'm sure we will find out in two years

Barcelona deny £70m Suarez offer, only want to pay £48m to Liverpool

They published an article on Thursday afternoon titled 'Barcelona will not pay the clause of Luis Saurez' and went on to say that the £70m was Liverpool's asking price, the clause, and Barcelona had no intention of paying it.

Mundo Deportivo went as far as saying 'Nothing is further from reality', and claimed that the trio of of Barcelona representatives Antoni Rossich, Jordi Mestre and Raül Sanllehí had informed Liverpool that £70m was too much for a player who was desperate to leave and had the ban for biting hanging over his head. ( <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> )

Barcelona want to pay €60m, which is £48m, and that will bring a chuckle to many Liverpool fans but the Catalan club will try and get the price down as they usually do. As it stands Alexis Sanchez won't be used in any deal.

From here the two parties need to get closer and Barcelona can't be seen to mess this one up. The board have received huge criticism from fans over the last year for the way they've dealt with coaches and players. The departures of Eric Abidal and Thiago last summer didn't go down well and the potential transfer ban they face has received another backlash from fans. Not to mention the Neymar transfer mess.

That all gives Liverpool strength.

Barcelona will probably bend quite a bit, regardless of what they've told Mundo Deportivo. They won't want to look like they've capitulated to Liverpool's demands so don't be surprised to see claims that Luis Suarez will fund part of the transfer himself, whether that's true or not.

As predicted earlier, mis-informing the press re-the size of the offer.

Face saving ahoy

Everything in the media to do with this deal in the eyes of Tobes...

Everything said by Liverpool equals bullshit.

Everything said by Barcelona equals gospel truth!

Didn't see that coming <laugh>

When did I say or intimate that?

Oh yeah I never <doh>

This morning the papers were full of stories about a £70m bid and "sources from Liverpool" saying how productive talks had taken place.

It now appears that the fee was way over egged, who would possibly benefit from that PR? Ooh let me think.....

Barca now retort by no doubt lowering the actual offer even lower to the figure quoted in this piece.

Your comment above suggests you believe the Barca bid £48m rumours which have clearly been fed to the media by Barca, especially since it claims as much too <laugh>

You also made it quite clear you didn't believe what Liverpool were claiming. Feel free to point out what I wrongly accused you of <laugh>

Try reading it again love

Journos don't have a clue what is being discussed in the negotiating sessions but will bend any statement to fit the stance that best suits them. The PR boys for both clubs are having a field day making sure that there are no 'facts' that can be relied upon - that's just what the negotiating teams want.

My best guess is that both sides are still trying to establish the other sides rationales and sticking points. I strongly doubt that the are even near to the If/Then horsetrading.
