While I'm not even close to being interested in RL, I'm a little embarassed to admit that I've never heard of him, which is pretty bad when he's the manager of a local sports team.

He wasn't doing that bad a job. We'd beaten the black & whites twice already, and we'd given some of the top teams a game which we were unlucky to lose.

Chester won't stay on after this year.

I wouldn't be too sure of that mate. Before this come about with Sandercock, Chester said he was ready to be a Head Coach. So if he does a good job 'til the end of season, who knows?
 
The last I heard they in talks with him about a new contract?

Wonder if it was anything to do with player they sacked early in the week.

He was doing as well as could have been expected with the squad and resources you have.

Either you have a better option lined up (doubtful) or this is for non rugby reasons, strange because he seemed like he was enjoying his time at Rovers.
