Not trying to be confrontational but why do you have such a high opinion of Di Maria? Whenever I've seen him he looks a little average. Got a lot of assists last season, but doesn't score enough.

He's had an awful WC too,I've actually been surprised how poor he's played.

Suarez wasn't top 3 in the world when we bought him

We need a replacement who is at Suarez's initial level, not the level we got him to

This.
Problem is, there is no guarantee that this new guy is going to develop into the same quality as Suarez though.
Thats why when people say "Oh we will get a ****load of cash for him", its ultimately empty, because, as Spurs found out, even if you get a fortune, doesnt mean you be able to obtain the same quality of player again eventually.

Also, on the subject of him being a flat track bully.....stats would kinda point to that I guess, but I dont fully subscribe to it.
Whether he cannot score against decent teams or not is irrelevant in Spain though, since there are only 2 decent teams in Spain, and Barca are one of them.
So it just means he wont score against Real......everyone else should **** themselves <ok> :p

He scored 111 goals in 159 appearances for Ajax

He scored 82 goals in 133 games for you lot.

It's a myth to suggest you somehow 'created' him

The two non-bitter people above you got the point

Why does the Norwich thing keep coming up? You'd think it was the only team he scored against...

It was a flippant comment but based in some truth. For a guy with no C.L experience and doesn't actually perform that well against the very best it's pretty damn hard to justify him being 'clearly' 3rd best player in the world. He's world class certainly but I think there are quite a few players in the bracket below the obvious 2.

Spanish Champions...............Atletico Madrid <ok>

They really don't though. Posted some stats somewhere, which I can't be bothered to find again, but basically he got a goal or an assist in 23 out of 33 apps last season. Messi got 22 out of 31. The only side in the league who stopped him scoring or creating in both home and away games last season was Chelsea.

He was one of Madrid's best player last season.
If you recall the CL final, he was probably the best player on the pitch.
Bale and Ronaldo were having a mare, this guy took the game by the scruff of the neck.
A determined lad and gives a 110% on the pitch.

And he's left footed, so would fit in perfectly on the RW. I can only think of Bale as a better left footer.

But still my first preference would be Reus. He's WC! if it was up to me, id pay more than his clause, go all the way to Dortmund, wrap him in cotton
and carry him all the way to Liverpool on the back of my shoulder.

ugh. stop quoting that knob <laugh>

Ruining my ignore so i don't have to read his utter tripe.

Suares.. 31 goals in the PL equaling Ronaldo, all the awards, in the PL, the league that that very fool has said is harder to win than the German league or La Liga and now here is the same tool watering down the very PL he rated so highly (by mentioning Norwich), because it backs his piss weak argument about Suarez not being one of the best right now.

#onlyasgoodasyourlastseason

Stop putting up straw men Sisu you wally. I never said he wasn't one of the best right now, he is. I'm just not having that he is 'clearly' top 3.

Messi and Ronaldo have been performing at the very highest level for years now and have won countless honours, ballon dor's etc. Suarez has had a good season, much like Kevin Phillips did once.

So positives are that Suarez did lose the ball more than any other player in the prem (think either last year or year before) and he had a habit of not scoring when we really needed it most (but ploughing 4 into Norwich was no problem).

Thoughts like that will ease the pain.
Also,
He is banned for the first couple of months and WILL get banned again, that I have no doubt of.

True that, Bale had many mares for Real last season btw, for those talking him up as better than Suarez, he aint
