Fonte's an even better back up for us and would probably start for us. We can't sell the relatively cheap players....that makes no sense at all.

Manager needs time to look at players he wants to keep. What is the point in giving out contracts then Koeman saying he doesn't want the player?

Perhaps this is his agent making a move in order to push us. Fonte deserves a new contract and can definitely do a job for us. I think he covered a fair bit for Dejan last year.

I wasn't commenting on the article really, just stating that I think the club should have given him a new contract a while ago. Sure, Koeman needs to have a look at him, but he is the best CB we have other than Dejan.
