The Belgian striker is on the brink of joining us from Coventry City Moussa & Ventokele our first choice front line next season.
As of last Friday, Coventry seemed resigned to losing him. However I was told it was Brentford and 'udders leading the chase.
From the Huddersfield Daily Examiner (yes, really) : Charlton Athletic appear favourites to land Coventry City striker Franck Moussa, who had been mentioned in regard to Huddersfield Town due to the Mark Robins link. The goalscoring Belgian midfielder netted 13 for the Sky Blues last season and looks to be heading for The Valley, where they have new Belgian owners. Moussa, 24, has been expected to step up to the Championship and he is understood to have turned down Birmingham City in favour of going to the capital. Millwall and Barnsley are among those who have inquired about him, while Nottingham Forest and Wolves were also said to be interested. Town manager Robins – who has snapped up goalkeeper Joe Murphy from his old club – signed Moussa for Coventry after giving him a chance to impress on a short-term contract after he left Leicester City in 2012. Charlton have both a Belgian owner and manager – the latter being former international striker Bob Peeters – who will know all about Moussa after taking over at The Valley from the axed Jose Riga, who was drafted in as Chris Powell’s replacement last March.
Confirmed that we have signed him Pictured holding his new shirt at Sparrows Lane. Fee of £250,000 ?
Oz- I am trying to stay positive for dick plumb's benefit. The oily snake in the grass has already had me banned from one other Charlton site this week
We had him for a short while a few years ago until Sven got rid of him. He didn't play much but when he did he showed he had some ability. I think he will prove to be a good signing for you especially if his time at Cov is anything to go by
Good luck this season Fox. Hamer not a bad signing for you. I think you need to spend big, looking at your squad
Just messaged my mate from work who's a Coventry City season ticket holder, to get his take on Franck Moussa. Here's his take...: Pal... Just noticed that from our website. I understood he was out of contract, so 250 grand would be ok. Skilful wide left, usually, works hard, maybe needs to look up a bit more. Has a good dig and reasonable finisher! Sounds promising enough. This is the type of signing we should be making IMO. So, I'm quite happy with this new arrival.
More info...: Me...Sounds to me like just what we need. All last season we we're crying out for someone to play wide left. Please tell me that he has a bit of pace to get past people and isn't a lightweight. Pal... Well he looked quite quick in short bursts in Lge One ! But he is strong on the ball. Someone's having a laugh on Wiki...: Charlton Athletic Moussa signed for Charlton Athletic F.C on 2nd July 2014 on a two-year deal on a free transfer. Their fans have already nicknamed him "Mousstard" because of his fondness for rhubarb.
Just receiced this email from a mate of mine who is Chesterfield fan: "Not happy that you have signed the Mousse(!) – we had him on loan a couple of years back from Leicester and have been dreaming about getting him back ever since – realistically never going to happen given his wage demands. You’ve got yourself a proper player there – with plenty of scope for improvement as he is lightly raced for his age……" From this and other reports, sounds like a decent signing to me!!!
Oh, like a benefit night you mean ? In honour of ? I like this signing. But i don't get the rhubarb jibe ? Rhubarb sucks, and apparently escaped from the pot when god was putting it/us all together.
Cheers. I would be very surprised if Hamer ever played as we got Kasper Schmeichel to sign a new contract which was massive for us. I don't expect us to spend big like Cardiff did last year as it proved it doesn't work unless its spent wisely. Nigel Pearson has never been one for spending over the odds for players and we getting quoted stupid prices like 10M from Brighton for Leonardo Ulloa. Our squad needs a few quality additions and then some competition added in a few areas
Ahh that would be that positive site, that can knock out 25 separate "sack the boss" threads quicker than you can say Franck Moussa... Not a bad signing... Looks good in the videos, has flair & scores goals... Will be interesting to see how consistent he'll be...
Why would we have to pay anything if he is out of contract? Is this his personal signing-on fee? A bit of a journeyman drifting round lower league clubs, but the Belgian connection might get the most out of him. Also we have finally signed a specialist for the LM position. Apart from loanees can anyone remind me the last time we did that?
Enough of the insults Nick. You have not been banned as you are posting under Royston. I used to have respect for you but that has gone.
I am afraid its mutual. A brief search on CL reveals you seem to have said rather a lot of abusive things about me, and going back over a number of years ? Before you get too sanctimonious, perhaps you should have a look for a reminder of some of the comments you have made about me And that is before your **** stirring this week. I will be ignoring your posts from now on.
Dick, Vol... It is possible to block one another's posts (I had to block Ackworth a while back cos he was getting right on my tits). Have a butchers in the settings.
