Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has praised transfer target Luis Suarez for issuing a public apology for his bite on Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup:

"Suarez has shown he is humble enough to admit an error, which is very important," he told reporters.

"He has been humble enough to apologise to those he has affected, because it happened in the middle of a festival of football. In this case it's the best thing a person can do."

"Everyone knows that Luis is an excellent player, everyone knows last season he played in various positions in attack, but everyone also knows that he is a Liverpool player," he said.

Zubizarreta was speaking at the presentation of Barcelona's latest signing Ivan Rakitic, and the midfielder also praised Suarez.

"The fact he has had the character and the strength to go in front of everyone and say sorry says a lot about him as a person," said the Croatian international.

"Not every person has that strength to admit they have done something stupid. I rarely say that I am wrong so this says a lot about him, he has shown the character and strength he has so he should be commended for that.

"Regardless of whether the club signs him or not, his quality is unquestionable. He has shown a lot of quality with Uruguay and scored more than 30 goals (last season) with Liverpool, so he has the necessary quality to play for Barca."

Tobes should be pissed. Pretty sure Durham ripped off his whole arguement.

Not quite, as unlike that numpty Durham I'd have got my facts right.

As you dropped just the same number of points in the 5 games after he came back from his ban last season, as you did during it, so to say he cost you the title is a complete nonsense - particularly given that he bagged 31 league goals that put you within touching distance of it.

not sure how he cost us the title, when it was in our own hands after he had already come back from the ban. so what happened before was irrelevant.

i think we lost the title as we had a ****e squad, no other reason, look how ****e our bench was, first team was ****ed, but we had no options to change it.

is this durham the same person who does talksport?

That's that so.. a question of how much and who we get now

Ming cost us a couple of points<ok>

I would like to apologise to the girl I bit on the hand way back when we were both in nursery. I now realise that it was incredibly greedy for me to want to put the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle in, I should have shared that responsibility, responsibly. Expressing my disagreement could have been done in a better fashion than biting and for this I am truly sorry.

I will let you all shower me with praise for my noble and honorable act below

...

No, that was in reply to some opaque comment that was difficult to comprehend.

As for Goofy, who gives a f**k? An execrable individual.

<doh> don't you remember all the pundits saying this time last year that Liverpool would be nailed on for the title except that Suarez would miss some games
