The Post are reporting now that Derby County and Celtic are set to hijack Hull's move for Santos! However the Post are also saying Santos is a defender so believe what you wish with this story! http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Celtic...ty-s-Bristol/story-21311525-detail/story.html
In a different article in the Post today, Clarke has spoken about Santos decision in leaving.... Clarke said: "I've spoken to Alefe's agent and he tells me Alefe has decided his future lies elsewhere, though I'm not sure where that will be. We turned down a bid from Hull City but whatever he decides, I wish him all the best. Wherever he goes we will receive a fee for him, the amount to be decided by tribunal. We did offer Alefe an improved deal, but he doesn't now see his future with us. If I'm honest I believe he still needed to do a lot of work as he's not the finished product at the moment. I also think it might have benefited him to have stayed another year with us to learn. He may well spend a year in a development squad somewhere and will be competing with a lot of players for a place. It will be interesting to see how he progresses." Breaking News: Santos has officially signed for Derby!!! http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/BREAKI...fender-Alefe/story-21311605-detail/story.html Post still saying Santos is a defender
I recall when he left Bristol to go to Stoke then came home because he wanted to be near his family and now at the first opportunity goes to Hull. Strikes me as another Scott Sinclair who has now made a career out of loan moves and bench warmer.
I actually liked some of the things I saw about Santos. The team often seemed to forget he existed out on the far reaches of the wing, but when he joined up with Smithy I reckon he showed some potential. Unfortunately he will need another couple of years to develop physically before anyone will really know how good he can be, and could the Rovers commit to that time scale.
This can only be a money thing for santos and his agent. Can't see him getting any competitive action at any championship or prem clubs. Let's put it another way he is no Carayol and he found it difficult to get games santos might be in for a long wait.
Thanks for the warning. He has signed for Derby apparently. My point about Hull's scouting system wasn't made to make us look and sound like Manchester United or somebody. The club have invested heavily in the scouting system lately and we have scouts all over the country now under the watchful eye of Stan Ternant, who is in charge of the operation. Anyhow looks like this particular thread is at an end. Good luck for the new season and I really do hope you win back your Football League status quickly.
thats cool, i wasnt saying anything bad about your scouting system, just that not every player they get in the door will work out and im positive this would be a bad egg for you. so you had a luck escape by the way, i have a soft spot for hull for obvious reason...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7ODr0co5Zw
Santos leaving? Thank **** for that! The kid was useless, didn't have big enough leg muscles to kick the ball much further than 10 yards, and booted it out of play 9 times out of 10.
