Well it is good to see the yellow shirted teams doing well - shame one will go out in the next round.

That chap we're meant to be getting who played for Ecuador should feel comfortable.

Mex Horn - Are your Mexican friends confident of an upset against the Netherlands?

Can see it being tight but Robben/RVP being the difference.

The defense has only let in one goal so far and mexico have scored a few too, with two clear goals disallowed. People here think they might sneak it and the next round might well be easier!
 
Algeria played really well but needed to score in their spell of pressure in the first half. Germany were extremely poor for the first 40 minutes, and Algeria needed to score in that period. You knew Germany would come back stronger, but well done to Algeria, they never gave up and gave Germany a real fright.

Also well done to Belkalem who had a really good game - can he bring that over to the Championship... and will he be given the chance to consistently?

Yes Algeria ..... nearly did it but lacked accuracy in the final ball in and their shooting...... Germany looked poor in that first half.

I wonder if this experience will give Belkalem the confidence he needs. He looked ok for most of the game and stopped two goals by being in the right place..
