£6M according to the Mail, this one might be made up. If they added a 2 in front of that 8 then it would represent real value if Shaw went for the £30M+ as reported.

Very tenuous link...

"Swansea City could look to France again to sign another Summer target, with Marseille winger Dimitri Payet now linked with a move.

Following the arrival of French striker Bafetimbi Gomis on a free transfer, Payet is now available as Get French Football News report that Marseille are offering the player to a number of Premier League clubs. He's apparently been placed on the transfer list to acquire funds for another target - he could cost as much as €8.5 million.

Get French Football News was a reliable source in the lead up to Gomis completing his move to Swansea City.

Regarding Payet, they also reported:

Although discussions are at an early stage, Get French Football News reported that Marseille had offered Payet to a number of Premier League clubs.'

Of course, Newcastle United have also been linked with the winger, and the Swans could compete again with the Magpies for another Frenchman.

On his debut for Marseille, he scored two goals within 15 minutes as his side won 3-1. He scored a further 5 goals in 26 appearances since his move there in 2013 from Lille.

The 5ft 9inch winger has played all of his football in the French leagues so far. He has also served his country at under-21 and senior level, with 7 full caps for France.

He was linked with moves to Liverpool in 2011 and Arsenal in 2013."

Well best we send Valley to the negotiations, because all our players are sold way below what they are worth (Joey aside). Valley put yourself forward.

The one problem we do have is that we will lose bony for about 6 weeks early in January anyway as he joins the national team for the Africa cup. It's a bad time to lose a player of his caliber especially if we are lagging behind and need points...

Is that why we signed Gomis, Not only because of this but if we have the 2 it is a nice problem to have.

Northampton have signed Swansea defender Daniel Alfei on a season-long loan.

"Youngster joins Cobblers The 22-year-old came through the Swans academy and he has had loan spells at Wrexham and Portsmouth. He made 15 appearances in 2013/14 after joining Pompey for the second half of the campaign. Alfei has played just four times for his home-town club but he has also represented his country at youth level, playing more than 30 times in total for Wales up to Under-21 level."

Middlesbrough striker Marvin Emnes set to join Swansea

By Marie Harrington ⋅ July 2, 2014

"Middlesbrough forward Marvin Emnes looks set to make a permanent move to Swansea City in a deal worth £1.4 million, according to the BBC.
Swansea close in on signing Marvin Emnes from Middlesbrough

Swansea close in on signing Marvin Emnes from Middlesbrough

The 26 year old Dutch striker has been linked with a permanent move to the Liberty stadium following two loan spells at the club.

Emnes has been relieved from pre season training with Boro, suggesting he will shortly be unveiled as a City player.

Emnes had been in and out of the Boro squad for the last four seasons as he struggled to establish himself as a regular but the former Dutch U21 international had made a good impression during both his loan periods under manager Brendan Rodgers, and most recently Gary Monk.

The deal is expected to be confirmed in the next 24 hours."
