Most the festivals in the uk are ****e. You've got to go abroad for the proper scenes nowadays. Nowt wrong with a bit of horse tranquilliser when taken in moderation but these legal highs are nasty stuff. Some lads I know we're chewing their faces off on cow worming tablets not so long ago <laugh>

I guess that makes me uncool - I'm suffering through this new stuff in the hope of eventually hearing songs from the first three albums.

Seriously, what the hell makes anyone think "Hmm cow worming tablets, lets see if I can get off me tits on these bad boys?" or just as bad "Oh let me order some unknown powder, contents untested, which states on the packet "not for human consumption" off the internet, worth a try innit?"?

I wouldn't go to a bloody hippy festival.

Ska / Reggae festival yes

Reading the names of the bands mentioned makes me realise how little I know about the music of the the last 20 + years.

Iv seen Complete Madness ( 3 times ) / Bad Manners, Pauline Black - Selecter
/ and a great Bob Marley tribute band called Zion in the last few years

Arcade Fire and Interpol been two of my favourite bands for about 10 years, excellent highlights of them.

Enjoyed De La Soul too and that new band Chvrches were good as well.

Always love watching the Glasto highlights, until the novelty act comes on of course.
 
Arcade fire are just barmy live.

Energy and mad dancing.

Genuinely a bit different. They nearly walked off when I saw them after some nob threw a bottle at the singer.


Massive attack are like a walk of noise when they play these days. In a really really good way!

I think that's the thing with them - it's probably a great experience if you're there in person, but when I watch their live shows on TV the ropey lead vocals and the problems of replicating such a complex, multi-instrument sound make for a letdown compared to the sublime recordings.
 
Seen Arcade Fire live a few times.

Last night was better than i remember when i saw them at the MEN in Manc & the Rock En Sein Fest in Paris.
 
Arcade fire may hit some bum notes but in a set as ambitious, diverse and eclectic as you can get they can be forgiven.
Here comes the night was just incredible, and then to go out on Wake Up after the sheer bedlam of the set ( was any track vaguely the same!) was pretty amazing.

I saw Arcade Fire about 5 years ago at Newcastle Metro, it was the best gig I've ever been to, just brilliant.

I think they're a great band, so many great songs, and a unique live experience. What's not to like?

They are different to what's out there at the minute. I lost count of how many instruments each member plays.

I know they appeared on stage with David Bowie, before he stopped doing live gigs, but was he on their last album?
 
Apparently Glastonbury is a holiday camp for 'Trustafarians' these days, and what are Metallica doing there, couldn't they get a British metal band to headline? Metallica have been **** since 1991 anyway
