I hate/blame FIFA and the FA for setting up this stupid system. The NC, MP, players, board, KL thing is really secondary. When the money you can get for leaving is so great, and the odds of a small club breaking the glass ceiling are stacked so highly against I don't know that there's anything that can be done. If the game were fair, you wouldn't need NC to sell you on "the vision." Look at the club-- it's a good young core with a good manager. You don't need Cortese to see that. And that should be enough. But they are leaving because that isn't enough. It's either the money, or the dream of a title or both. Whatever it is, it's a recognition that winners are determined by non-footballing, off-the-pitch, considerations.

Man, I said that at the time. When all these guys were talking about how they needed the club to "match their ambition" I wondered how, if they were all so good why we lost to just about every top side. They should have been asking why they didn't match the club's ambition. That annoyed me. But people were not so receptive to that point of view. "I want to play in Champion's League" means "I want to be paid a lot of money." We would never be able to afford the wages that Lallana and Shaw are getting.
I don't really hate, one of the advantages of having been around the block a few times. Why waste your energy? It doesn't make you feel any better. On second thoughts, I do hate salt and vinegar crisps. They are bastards, everyone one of them, particularly when I am expecting cheese and onion!
