According to RH Snodgrass transfer will not be concluded this week, but early next, but they understand there is no major problems just ironing out the finer detail.
Do we not do business on a Saturday or Sunday? It's 15.41 on Friday afternoon, will 4 hours of negotiations not see it done if there isn't much else to change? Why would it take an extra 2 days to iron out small print?!
Well obviously not, this is what was said on Twitter Mike White Mike White @mikewhitesport Hull City not expected to finalise Snodgrass deal today. Club spokesperson says it's now likely to happen "early next week". #hcafc 3:
Presumably the club has an issue with the tops he's been wearing? Personally I don't care if he wants to dress like a bird away from the pitch.
Doubt at all its anyone else talking to him. No one else has even put a bid in, and the media would be all over it if someone was about to steal the deal. Chances are it is all about finalized and they dont want to announce it on a Friday night. We dont announce deals on the weekend so early next week is the first opportunity. No need to get worried.
Would not worry John. Not a problem even if true. But Nobody actually knows other than both clubs, the player and his agent. Maybe he has to get back to Norwich or his tea will end up in the dog. ?
better to announce it on the friday evening as there is no footy on that day - the signing will rock the transfer world . We could wait while Monday though and bury it under the Avalanche of Suarez transfer to Barca , and we can release the Snod to an unsuspecting Europa League foe !
I was just thinking the same. What difference does it make that they stay a little longer tonight and make sure the deal is concrete and finished, or leave it unfinished over the weekend whereby clubs might think "he's had second thoughts, we could swoop in here" and leave him to go somewhere else? No other club has matched the asking price yet, but it doesn't mean they won't if they've got two days in which to do it. Usually at this point the agent pipes up and says "oh it's a done deal, he'll be signing Monday", so if there's radio silence, it's a tiny bit of a worry.
Its for press reasons. You never release things on Fridays. Even in organizations I have worked at in my life press releases on Fridays are a big no no. You release things if you can early in the week and ride the press for a few days. Friday night or weekend releases get "lost" as most people do not pay as much attention to things that occur then. Even if he signs the deal today before he leaves they will not announce it until Monday.
