lets get one thing straight. suarez' record against city is neither here nor there in this debate. the whole footballing world is condemning him, apart from one ipswich fan, a few liverpool fans and the whole of uruguay.

the fact he is supremely talented has diddly to do with what should happen to him. YOU CANNOT GO AROUND BITING PEOPLE!! just let that sink in (no pun intended)... he has now bitten three people on a football field. that is astonishing.

as far as i'm concerned, anybody defending him is just as bad as he is. he is, quite simply, vile.

he isn't 'flawed'. flaws are problems people can relate to. nobody can relate to somebody choosing to bite a fellow person.

I'm not condoning what he has done but I will not condemn him for his obvious psycological problems. He needs professional help, support and treatment to see him through this difficult stage in his life. He is not beyond all redemption and he is not the devil incarnate that everyone is saying that he is!

You may well be, but the subject of your protecting arm around the shoulder is definitely NOT!

So let's just throw away the key on everyone that isn't 'normal' and doesn't conform to your own standards of acceptable behaviour! <doh>

i'm not sure a footballer (or anyone for that matter) who has bitten three people in a matter of years conforms to ANY standards of acceptable behaviour, not just mine or cromers, do you? if he were a mere mortal on the street he would have been locked up by now and yes, he should receive help (which, by the way, he was offered last season and turned down - perhaps because he felt he could do it himself) but to consistently do this sort of thing means he is not learning from his mistakes and should be taken away from the action where this misdemeanour continually takes place. as far as i'm aware he hasn't bitten anyone away from the game but his actions on the field of play suggest suarez is not a decent human being. he's proven this time and time again, and i speak as someone who he'd effectively won around last season with his sublime performances.

And this effort from Rooney goes completely unpunished not even a free kick! <ok>

But I suppose when you play for Man Utd and England you are allowed to get away with brutality like this!

Dont worry Wayne! We wont ban one of our own!

failure from our own useless fa to punish players correctly doesn't make the suarez decision wrong. you seem to be showing an incredible bias towards suarez - is there a reason for this? even the liverpool fans i know are now firmly in the 'boot him out' camp, yet for some reason, you, an ipswich fan, think he is hard done by

I just think that some players are allowed to get away with all sorts and others like Suarez are put through the ringer and hung out to dry! I thought the FA was meant to be kicking out Racism in Football?

but how many instances is it now with suarez? simply off the top of my head we have:

• punches the ball off the goal line during a world cup quarter final and mocks gyan who missed the spot kick
• banned for a punch up in training at ajax
• bitten a player during a scuffle whilst playing for ajax
• racially abuses patrice evra
• punched a player on international duty (not punished by the way)
• scores in a cup game with the use of his hand (forget the opponents)
• attempted bite of chiellini at confed cup
• bites ivanovic whilst playing for liverpool
• numerous dives and feigning injury, most recently (and laughably) against norwich where he rolled around as if shot only to get up as soon as his team won the ball back
• finally sinks his teeth into chiellini at the world cup

its just an astonishing list of misdemeanours as bad as anything football has ever seen. he should be thrown out of the game but because he's so talented, clubs line up to buy him as they are willing to put up with the atrocious wrongs he commits.

Henry scored a winner with his hand against the ROI in a World Cup Play-off game and yet everyone tghinks he is a saint! <ok>

Training ground punch ups are more common than you think so nothing new there.

Most players in the Premier League roll around and feign injury so nothing new there either!

He was rightly sent off for punching the ball off the goal line so was punished for that at the time.

The farcical Evra incident is not as clear cut as it seems and Evra escaped punishment even when he admitted some share of wrong doing!

henry had one major incident in 15-20 years in the game. we are talking big, big, controversial incidents on a regular basis, often harming fellow professionals. suarez has had 10+ in about 5 years. laughable comparison!!

and you still haven't explained your bias towards suarez, because it is bias, clear and simple. i can only assume it is because of what he kept doing against city but that seems like the most stupid reason ever to back someone.

Henry controlled the ball with his hand, and put in the cross which resulted in Gallas scoring the winner. Sure the ref should have caught it, but it's not punching the ball across/off the line. Henry's hand was in a natural position and the ball came to him quickly through two other players. Yes it shouldn't have counted, but it's nowhere near the same as the Suarez incidents.
