There was no cover-up around Heysel, Ibrox stadium disaster or the Valley Parade fire. The victims' families in those disasters did not have to live with false accusations made against them.

Have there ever been any repercussions for those responsible for Hillsborough or its aftermath?

couldn't agree with you more Vol - I get totally p****d off with scousers in general ALWAYS playing the victim. Sure the police are not angels
but is anybody seriously telling me that all those fans that came rushing through those gate at just after 3 o'clock at Hillsborough hadn't been down the pub and I can vitually guarantee it (although can't prove it) we half cut and rushed onto the terraces not giving a 2nd thought to the people who were at the front,
But it's all the polices' fault - don't make me laugh!

We're in danger of getting off-topic, but:

The fans were in no way to blame for the crush. There were no signs directing fans away from the central tunnel towards the less-populated side pens (Sheffield Wednesday's fault IMO), and when the fans - many delayed by traffic, and some probably from being in the pub too long - were let in just before kick-off it's only natural to go straight for the first entrance you see in a relatively unfamiliar ground. Kick-off should probably have been delayed. Moreover, the tunnel should have been closed once it was clear the central pens were full. This had been done before at Sheffield Wednesday matches, but wasn't done on that day.

This is what the SUn published as "The Truth", and later apologised for, admitting it was based on police lies.

Can you not see the connection between a policing/regulator failure leading to disaster 25 years ago and the performance of England at this summer's World Cup?
