They are obviously putting in bids for good championship players, Maynard and Cork are the two that we know about. Finishing in the top 6 of the Championship is the minimum we should be aiming for. If we have a bit of bad luck and narrowly miss out this may well be deemed acceptable. However should we languish around mid to low table, he will be axed.

We are Southampton, we are well run, we have good players, we will add to our squad, and we have good support. How can anyone expect us to finish outside the top 6 of this mediocre league? Anyone that does have no faith in Adkins or Cortese.... or perhaps failed the Fan Test I supplied.

Get your season ticket and show some faith.

The bookies seem to think so and whilst they are not always right they provide a straw pole for neutrals predictions.

This is one of the strongest leagues in a longtime. we cannot expect playoffs, but we can remain hopeful for a top six finish
