shearers arm. i think you need to realise before you talk about originality and imagination, do you think you are the first person ever to have posted an article that says "which players do you think we need to keep"

**** off man and get a grip. its a forum

1. Tiote - Needs no explanation.
2. Coloccini - Reliable, skilfull and very solid at the back. Has the odd slip up but has continued to improve rapidly for several years now.
3. Shane Ferguson - Agree with the OP, he is a seriously good future prospect. Very skilfull, fast and surprisingly strong for his tiny size. Want to see more.
4. Ben Arfa - Aside from the obvious, he played a big role in showing our new signings why Newcastle was the place for them; could be a big figure for them in the dressing room.
5. Barton - Our team over the last few seasons has grown and succeeded largely because of this guy, he's a great player with great spirit and has a big role to play in keeping the team together.

For a club like ours if we lose players such as those mentioned we would struggle to replace them for a fair price, if joey walks next year we'd have to spend 10 million ish - (guess) to get a decent replacement.
As for Hatem he was an absolute steal - 5 mill or so. so for what he has I think that is indespensible.

We've just signed Cabaye for £4.5m.

No, Cabaye cost us £4.5 is likely to play ahead of Barton this season.

How can HBA be indespedsible just because he cost £5M, he may turn out to be ****e. He's only played a game and a half for us, we don't don't know how good he is til he's played for us consistantly. Surely by your argument James Perch cost us £1.5M and we got the best of a season out of him, that makes him as indespensible as HBA.

lol the freaks are out on the forum today beatski. on the satrical thread about sunderland's ground i had someone have a go at me constantly about my spelling mistakes because i called his article long winded! he got his nickers in a twist too because he couldnt think of an intelligent way to defend his article.

these guys should lighten up or just simply leave the forum

agree with this and would have had jose and barton on there but it looks like there days are numbered.so i'd say Krul and struggle for a 5th one maybe harper.we'll see next season with the likes of ben arfa.

I really hope cabaye turns out great! I did actually nearly slip him in ahead of J.B if he's good as touted then J.B can walk.

Perch has never been linked with Real Madrid, Ben Arfa was at the time we signed him, he has shown before the Toon that he has 'it' Perch didn't - I'm saying we couldn't get another HBA for 5 mill. Could we get another Perch for 1.5m ? answer is yes btw.

ok apologies for that. i didnt realise. i just thought the way you started acting like a baby over it that it might have been your thread.

In fairness Steele thats just because he was trolling his website, original 606 was full of them and clearly this place may suffer the same problem. Don't let it bother you. Shearers raised hand is just a fanny.

You can't say Cabaye is indespensible when he hasn't even pulled on a team shirt just as you can't claim HBA is indespensible because he's hardly played for us, he may lose his bottle and jump out of every tackle after his injury we don't know. Until they've played a regular consistant run of games I would say they have potential but not indespensible. Both players have been hyped but need to deliver. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah I was hesitant to say Ben Arfa. Purely based on his football, at the moment he isn't indispensable because we just don't know enough and will have to wait as you say. I was swayed by his influential role in bringing the French guys here as they all seem to mention him, if he is a big reason as to why they came it's conceivable that they could be a bit disillusioned with the whole ambition we have were he to go.

I need to lighten up? after posting a joke comment which you whined about; mentioning Perchinho's undeniable talents is a running gag on this board, if i hadnt said it, someone else would have. Next you'll be complaining about the signings of Fode Mansare, Yung Ji Mi or the Shola/Messi swap deal.
