Ali, Prior, Jordan, Broad, Plunkett.
Plenty of batting still to come
Ali on debut and not proven at this level, Prior is hit and miss (mostly miss) Broad does ok with a 30-40 run slog and Plunkett? Jordan? Dont know too much about them!
We have got to see this through to Tea without losing anymore Wickets.

Jordan showed during the ODI's he can hold a bat. Got some decent runs for Sussex in County Cricket last year as well.
Plunkett has been coring runs for Yorkshire this year (think he got 100 in one game).
Broad can get 40odd and Prior got some runs for Sussex at the start of this season and has a point to prove so fancy him getting some.

Things are going well so far. Root and Ali calmed things down and built a nice little partnership. If these two can put on another 80odd to get us to 250-4 then we'd be in a good position

Good session after losing Bell early. 97 runs 1 wicket.

Yep I agree but there shouldnt be any excuses now with a perfect pitch for batting!

Still reckon we'll get to 300. Sri Lanka batting isn't great and we have a good quick bowling line up to cause them issues.
My expectations were raised with the Root Ali partnership!

It was at the start of the game! The pitch was very green and moving around a lot and when going 3 down early, meant we needed to consolidate. The longer it's been played on, the easier it has got though.
