Garry is looking at a possible 4 strikers but insists it's not because of a possible bony exit. He states that there have been no offers from anyone for the star player...

SWANSEA City are eyeing at least four possible frontmen as Garry Monk bids to beef up his frontline ahead of next season.

Swansea have agreed fees for Standard Liege frontman Michy Batshuayi and FC Twente's Luc Castaignos.

But the Evening Post understands they are just two of the names on Monk's radar as he seeks serious competition for Wilfried Bony and Michu.

Monk is not interested in selling Bony, and it is wrong to assume — as some have done — that Swansea are seeking a replacement for the Ivory Coast star.

Instead Swansea's new manager is looking for an alternative frontman following the departure of Alvaro Vazquez last month.

Monk is interested in Batshuayi, the Belgian Under-21 international starlet, and former Inter Milan youngster Castaignos, who has represented Holland at under-21 level.

But at this stage, there are other potential recruits on the horizon, and Monk will be patient if it means landing one of his prime targets.

As well as snapping up at least one new face in attack, Swansea remain keen to bring Marvin Emnes back to Wales on a permanent deal after he impressed on loan last season.

Swansea have also registered an interest in Crystal Palace's Wales starlet Jonny Williams.

Agree with that Valley. The lad showed a lot of promise for Wales the other night, I'd sign him straight away.

I can't how anyone would think these potential signings are a replacement for Bony. They are young players showing some promise but capable of replacing Bony? <laugh>

Monk is certainly on the ball and working very hard for his first season, got to give him credit for that.

Getting in young players and keeping what we have seem to be the priority, obviously if we did lose any of our star players then i would expect they would go for enough cash to spend big on a replacement. Lets just hope that if anyone does go they go early and give us time to spend the cash.

Yes it makes a big difference when the chairman doesn't go on Holidays in the critical early months .<ok>

Glad Huw has finally learned that lesson.

Well it's being rumoured that Lukaku wants to leave Chelsea. Should Bony leave, he'd be the perfect replacement for me.

Lukaku is a cracking player, I'd take him in a heart beat, if Bony left us.

I think bony will be leaving tbh. I cant see us holding on to him if a big club who are in the champions league come in with £19m+ for him. I think Liverpool will sign him even with their star striker there.

He won't go to Liverpool to sit on the bench. Best bet would be Arsenal.

    What Monk says re Wilf

“There have been lots of stories, but we’ve had absolutely zero contact from anyone about Wilf and the fact is that as a club, we don’t care anyway,” he told Wales Online. “We don’t want to lose Wilf. We want him to stay with us and for him to be part of our future and the fact is that he is under contract.

“He is our player so it will be down to us to decide whether he stays or not. There is always going to be speculation about someone who scored as many goals as Wilf did last season. It’s a part of football that when a player does well, he will be linked with other clubs. But Wilf is our player, so all the speculation doesn’t matter.”

Yes, Gary. But let's hope the club's eyes don't get too wide when the big offers come in. We don't need the money but we do need a quality front man!

A club will always come out with statements like that stumpy. Remember jinx saying Rodgers is not going anywhere and 24hrs later he was the Liverpool manager....If we get the asking price of £19m then that is a great deal and it could be more if two clubs in the champions league want him. I cant see jinx turning down or refusing to let him go for that kind of dosh can you?....I think that's why we are recruiting more strikers to be honest as the club knows that the odds of bony staying is very low....

Add Lambert into the equation and there is no way he is going there.

you don't think much of bony then if you think he could not challenge Liverpool forwards for a place..? I think he is better than most of the Liverpool forwards to gain a regular spot next season...

Thats not the point, Dai, is it? With Lambert there, there is no way whey will pay that much money for another striker. Suarez, Sturridge, Lambert, Borini, Aspas... They have to sell Suarez or Sturridge for it to be plausible. Arsenal is a much more likely option...
