Fabregas is premier league proven, counts as home grown, at a prime age, can play in multiple roles. Struggle to see who else is available that is clearly a better option. It's not as if you are remotely well stocked with quality mids either. He'd be ideal for United or Chelsea alongside an enforcer (Matic for us, Carvalho perhaps for you)

Be more than happy to have him but as said above, he has to have an additional player alongside him.

Absolutely, would easily be the best in the Prem, and top 3 in the world.
Hope it doesn't happen though as I doubt Juventus will sell both Vidal and Pogba, and I'm really pulling for Vidal in a United shirt.

Getting beat by worse teams is what pre-season friendlies are all about. I'd take a 4-2 loss against Preston now.
