Morning/Afternoon Elland.

It seems to me like Cellino is on a campaign of steadily lowering expectations. We've gone from big changes to the playing staff, buying back ER and TA straight away and Festa's too inexperienced to take charge of Leeds to "the players are better than we thought", buying back ER at some undefined date before next year (hopefully), sacking off TA altogether and Festa odds on to get the job. I think if you'd presented those latest propositions to people before Cellino took over they might not have been so supportive.

EDIT: Not to mention promotion's been put back a year or two.

I don't think he ever said there'd be big changes to the playing staff

Cellino knew sweet FA about the English game and even less about the championship <doh> probably thought he was buying a club,in a league, equivalent
to Italys series B throw a few bob at it (emphasis on few) get promotion (easy peasy) in 2 years, and make a ton of dosh <ok><laugh><ok>

Think he is now finding things slightly different dont you <laugh>

He only called them the worst team he'd ever seen in his life.

That's not implying there'll be big changes to the playing staff, that's implying a better coach could get more out of the current squad.
A great squad of quality players can still be a poor team if they're badly coached.

Sorry Josh, can't remember him even implying it tbh

First quote I could be bothered to find, there are many more and many better ones

"I spent the last 23 years buying beautiful players for £1m. I saw them grow and then they have to leave. Every time you have to start again because the club doesn't grow like the players.

"If I can do the same thing here at Leeds, the club can grow like the player, so we don't have to sell - we can keep them"

To me thats implying that we'll be buying players for an actual transfer sum with the view to keeping them, as I said not the best quote to prove my point but there are many more that I remember

Di Matteo obviously has to he first choice here for everyone considering his experience of managing at the highest level and winning the Champs Lge with an inherited squad there shows his coaching credentials are top notch. Is he a realistic target though?...i think he would be great and would really develop the players he works with.

Fair enough, I suppose he does implicate himself a tad there <laugh><whistle>

Will NEVER happen until Cellino steps down and leaves the managerial issues to an experienced manager <ok>

You're spot on. At least he's being honest with us. One step backwards to take two steps forward (hopefully)

NewsNow is useless this time of year, because the amount of drivel thats being spouted in all the media outlets is crazy! Carbone and Zola are the only 2 being looked at. Cellino interviewing all 10 candidates this week (Funny that as I thought he needed to be back in Italy to finalise or end the deal with Caliagri). Di Canio not approached yet bl;ah blah blah.

At least we're not reading posts from so-called people in the know, because even the bookies are changing their minds constantly. I have a big list of people I dont want it to be:

1) Di Canio
2) Curbishley
3) Paul Jewell
4) Keane
5)The other keane
6) Bobby Davidson

Oh FFS Doc!! Now you've alerted Cellino to Steve Kean ... "ah, its-a not Bowyer I want, its-a that other bloke from Blackburn, the one who he a-fight with the crowd and he a-stand up to the abuse, he the one I need to do the same at Elland Road when my tactics not-a work"
