Crazy Levy at his best <doh>

Five year deal for a manager with no plan B (Saints fans know this too well). Massive pay off if it doesn't work out.

Like always, judge a manager on what he does for us but often we look at their previous jobs to see what hes capable of. Bottom of the table in Spain, top 8 in England. Doesn't mean a great deal as Jurgen Klopp relegated Mainz in Germany, yet hes now one of the best managers in Europe.

We will soon find out if he's a good fit, but I won't lie, my initial impression and thoughts are he isn't and not the type of manager we need but I hope to be proved wrong <cheers>

Well, it's not the appointment that I wanted, but he did some positive stuff with his previous clubs, so let's see what he's got.

His coaching staff have all left Southampton too, so you'd assume that they're following him to the Lane.

You've bagged yourself a great manager. Although I bloody hope he doesn't, he'll do a great job at Spurs.

<ok> understand the sentiment, and genuinely feel bad for you guys, going to be a long summer for you. Last summer was like that for us.

Hopefully he will get the best out our underachievers and maybe be the man to bring Lamela to the level we are hoping for

I never got the 'translator' thing - He can speak English well, it was odd that he always had a translator.

It gave him time to consider each question and any mistakes could be blamed on a poor translation of what he really meant.
Kept him out of the whole mindgames bollocks that certain managers seem to favour, too.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said: "He has a proven ability to develop each player as an individual, whilst building great team spirit and a winning mentality."

......

He's not our manager, by the way, he's our Head Coach. That's what Levy's statement says, anyway.
Doesn't sound like Baldini's going anywhere, though he was spotted heading to Barcelona earlier today.
