Absolutely stunned by the knee-jerk reaction against Pochettino. Firstly, if he wasn't a great manager, then why are some of you so upset? No great loss, right? Secondly, those who accuse him of disloyalty, would you be the same people who call for players to be got rid of after a couple of poor performances? IF he has gone, then I would be worried about the reasons why, but it's quite possible that he simply wants to have a crack at Champions league and sees Spurs as having a better chance for that. In that respect, it is unfortunate timing, as Spurs are the only club with a vacancy which are in a higher league position. Anyway, let's keep our cool here. Who knows who we might get as a replacement. The last two changes worked out rather well as I recall.

Okay, well how about this: he got a better job offer.

Also vocalising your emotions is an action.

The man who made them has now gone. Even with Les Reeds input? NC could sniff out the right man a mile off. Let's just hope the new board can do the same ! Agree with you about some of the unfounded disdain though

Isn't Pochettino only doing what many of us would do on here - examining the possibilities of moving on up? I am sure a number of people here have been head-hunted in whatever field of employment they have been in - be it health, education, finance, computer engineering. And it is good that people are head-hunted as it shows that they are talented. And if their employers really rate them, they will try their utmost to keep them. Even I was head-hunted and went to Yekaterinburg for a short period.

Well if it is time for Pochettino to depart, I have since reconsidered who I would like!! If he is given the elbow by AC Milan, how about Clarence Seedorf?? That to my mind would be a mouth-watering appointment.

    Or Alf Ramsey?

Completely different set of circumstances. For most of Nigel's reign we were in a completely different division, and when he was our manager in the Premier League, it was during the acclimatisation stage. One could hardly have expected him to have come out and got us into the top half of the table playing silky tiki-taka type stuff. And if you think Poch would have done so at this early stage, then you clearly think too much of the man's ability. When Pochettino came in for the end of last season, there were some good results, but there were some poor ones too, and he had the benefit of "new-manager-syndrome' etc. You can't say we weren't getting better under Adkins. Regarding this season, Poch had the benefit of Lovren, Wanyama, Chambers, and Osvaldo (whom he spectacularly failed to man-manage). I'm sure Adkins would have been grateful for these lot.

In addition, would Poch have got us promoted twice in a row? Again, completely hypothetical, but I don't think there are too many managers out there that would have.

I'm not going to argue that either one is better than the other, cos we simply can't say. It has never been a level playing field, so to speak.

He got a better offer? I feel much better knowing that. Makes his disloyalty and ingratitude easy to stomach.

He probably should have stayed, just out of concern for your poor stomach.

No sign of the meltdown ending I see. I admit I had a small one yesterday for about half an hour but I just took a while away from here to calm down and it worked. I suggest others do the same. From what I heard from someone who works at the club, Pochettino was happy to stay as long as he got assurances from the board so for people to blame Pochettino for going is ludicrous.

If Poch comes out and says he left for Spurs because he was told by the board we will sell key players and won't replace them will people still be angry with him?

People mustn't get hung up on the idea that Mauricio leaving means that there are huge problems at SMS...his demands/needs may have been unrealistic. We do have financial limitations, but, just because they didn't appeal to MP, doesn't mean that another manager wouldn't regard them as okay. I certainly don't want financial meltdown again.

Why is it ridiculous? I'm pissed off and angry, but. I'll get over it
. And I'll be there next season.

He's not gone yet. Lets all calm down and stay positive. Even if all three go we still have great times ahead.

Were you on here last week saying you were told Poch was staying?
