Anyone picked up on that Muppet Chopra gobbing off on twitter that has forced Ashley Williams to close his Twitter account? seems to have something on Williams, that has made him close his account, Routledge is asked to pass a message on to williams, and there is a photo of Williams with clearly the Emirates stadium in the back ground, and Williams is not with the Wales squad? also seems to involve Max Rushden.

I heard max Rushden on soccer am on saturday. He anounced him as Arsenals Ashley Williams. Chamberlain said, 'You said that not me' and everyone including Ash looked very uncomfortable.

I remember at the last Cardiff game at the Liberty in the Championship, when Bellamy scored, I was behind the away dugout, and the fat git came out and performed his idiot dance in front of us Jacks, if I had, had something on me to throw at him I would have!...................<cheers>

Williams was always on the verge of going every summer , should have let Laudrup agent get something for him last summer imo , Hope Williams goes and we get something , dont want to go another summer wondering where his ego will take him. A legendary Swan defender who played great but enough is enough

"After allegedly asking to leave Swansea City, centre back Ashley Williams is a reported £3m summer transfer target for Arsenal."

"The Welsh international has reportedly shunned a new contract at the Liberty Stadium in a bid to force a move to a bigger club this summer, and Arsenal - who have been long-term admirers of the former Stockport County defender - have once again been linked with a swoop for Williams."

"Williams was valued at almost £10m as recently as last summer, but now with just a year to run on his contract, the Swans may now be forced to sell their star defender for just £3m."

Looks like he's on his way, bit of a blow to his close mate Monk? and our Rookie manager?.......................<ok>

He's worth more to us than £3 million... I'd vote to utilise him for one more season and then let him leave for free to whoever he wants next summer. £3 million is such a negligible amount for our captain that it would feel like he left on a free for that amount of money anyway. With no contract at the end of next season, he'll need to perform well next season to earn himself a contract at Arsenal (or at least a pre-contract in January), so we should get one more good season out of him.

That's if this is all true. Have we seen any quotes from SCFC, Williams or Arsenal on the matter yet? Or is it still papertalk?

......but the numbers being touted are 3m plus. Is this really all he's worth ? Captain of a PL team with European experience and an international. Seems cheap to me.

    There's no way I'd accept £3m.

Sets a dangerous precedent. Tell Arsenal to go **** themselves.
We'll have a year to find a replacement and Ash can go and sit on someones bench through his thirties if he likes....if he's lucky.

£3m for our captain, who has nearly 50 International caps, European football experience, whose stats stack up against the very best centre-halves in the league, who never misses a game with injury (virtually).....is taking the piss.

and in fact, if Arsenal have made such an insulting offer, I would cease doing business with them until they have had a change of management.

I think the 3 Million is just the starting point for talks, he is more likely to go for 6 Million...........<ok>

Yep, concluding that this is one I was totally wrong about....swallowed the club's Bayram Tutumlu spin hook, line and sinker.

In retrospect Laudrup was about to make the right call on Williams.

    The scenario we have now
    - give in to his agents demands and pay him more than what he's worth (Ash might have taken this option off the table already for all we know).
    - sell him now for a pitiful amount of money which won't afford us a decent replacement, harming morale (as he is captain and influential) and sending out the wrong message to other clubs and our own players.
    - let him run his contract down, possibly causing problems in the dressing room this season, before losing him on a free.

    Vs

The route Laudrup was prepared to take last summer
    - Sell him for the best part of £10m and replace with a younger model with a long contract.

If the board hadn't interfered who knows who Laudrup would have been able to bring in.
