Is it too early to say I hope Spurs get stuffed 5-0 on the first day of the season?

 

Not doubting the story's provenance, but as with other accounts from apparent friends of players, I think it's more likely to be a misunderstanding.

I'm sure Pochettino is a big fan of Rodriguez, and I'm sure he'd love to manage him in future, but Jay seems happy here and doesn't seem the type to force through a transfer.

there's the language barrier of course (which we know he likes to hide behind), but i'm struggling to think of an innocuous phrase that might be interpreted as such without being deliberately misleading.

Bizarre response. Of course she can do that but the fans have the right to question what happens at the club they support. If she's going to sell the club's best players and use the money to buy a bleedin big boat then she's asset-stripping and isn't acting in the best interests of the club. In that situation I don't think most (any?) Southampton fans would want her to remain at the club, not that there would be much anyone could do about it.

I suspect it's not the case, but assuming Poch has gone purely because he loves tottenham more, yep those would be good. Would we want Bergkamp as a coach potentially tapping up for Arsene though?

Why is that a bizarre response? You just said questions would need to be asked about where the money would be going. My point is that we can ask and question away, I agree, but at the end of the day she doesn't have to tell us. Of course we wouldn't want her remaining at the club if that is what she did, but there is not a lot we can really do.

Maybe you didn't expand fully on that statement when you said questions need to be asked about where the money has gone. It is not bizarre to wonder if she wants to even up what she has put in.

Well yeah. That's about all anyone could do. I doubt she is planning to spend any Shaw/Lallana money on a boat but who knows?

 

I think I'm alone, but if he goes I'd like him to be a success at Spurs. Mainly because loads of their fans seem to think they're better than him, but also because I don't dislike the guy at all and I think he's a hugely talented young manager with ambition. Plus he coaches football the right way. Good luck to him.
