The Ivory Coast international was reportedly close to a move to Sunderland in January 2010, but a transfer to the Stadium of Light failed to materialise.

Defender Demel is under contract at imtech Arena until next summer, however, he could leave Germany in the next few days.

Arnesen told BILD: "There are a couple of clubs in England that are keen on Guy. A transfer of Guy may become a fact by Sunday."

Full back? Sounds like a tank if I remember him right from before! Could do a job. Still I'm not sure with Bruce saying he won't be looking at African lads due to the ACN.

I thought it was our policy now not to buy Africans this close season?

He is a good player but as you say Brucey's crack about ACN probably rules ourselves out plus we seem well covered at right back (Bardo, Elmo & Ferdinand)

Forget about Ferdinand, the mans a liability - the new "old" Bramble.

Can play well for a couple of games, then BAM he screws up.

We need to move Anton on IMO.

Why does a red cow give white milk when it only eats green grass?

Bruce is gonna have to be stricter than the uk borders agency with this no aficans policy. I'm only opposed to us buying a striker who will leave for the Ac.n because I think we should be ok in other areas. Losing gyan and star striker would be devastating I would imagine.

Cheers Micky, wasn't aware of that.

Why are hamburgers made of beef not ham, cos they originated in Hamburg.

Why is there only one Monopolies Commission?

In other words we have Bardo, the other two are just cover hoping Bardo ****s up

Cos if they were French shepherd dogs, they stink off onions and run backwards.

Alsace is part the old province of France called Alsace-Lorraine. It provided Scotland with the mother of Mary Queen of Scots. Mary 2 uncles were powerful men in France at the time.

    Yes Alsace was disputed territory.

But no that is not the answer as to why German Shepards are called Alsatians in the UK.

The Great Dane and Alsatian are both German dogs, however us Brits didnt want anything to do with the Germans during and after the World Wars - so we started calling them Alsatians and Great Danes.
The French call them "Dogue Allemand" and "Berger Allemand" --> which would be "German Mastiff" and "German Shepard"

Why are they called Great Danes if they not from Denmark?

Great Krauts doesn't quite ring like eh?
