The only person on these forums that's an unashamed racist as far as I know is Thai. Warky makes no secret of his right wing leanings. What everyone else is doing voting for UKIP is a mystery to me so I can only hazard a guess that you agree with their policies, which are riddled with contradictions.
My opinion is that people are free to vote which ever way they like without getting labeled one thing or another.......

Who did you vote for and why??? The reasons I chose UKIP have already been covered by other posts on this thread so I'll not go over it again. You have not stated who you voted for ....all you've done on this thread is make thinly veiled accusations of racism and stupidity at those that voted UKIP.........so I suppose that makes you a labour voter.

I do not dislike Asians (I am married to one and live in Asia - simply love it and the people), European, Americans or indeed anyone as a race, so please enlighten me as to how I am a racist.
Hampy - you are bit too quick to use that term with previous form branding SN23 as the word 'Negro' appears in a particular country. Perhaps half of the current problems in the UK has been created by people with a similar train of thought to you, those that are scared to speak about anything in case it offends someone.
As with JWM, my politics are to the right, but that does not make it racist by default. FFS Maggie Thatcher was further to the right than me and she wasn't branded as racist if memory serves me right.
For me, immigration is a serious issue in the UK, regardless of which country they are coming from, and if you think otherwise then that's fine, it's you and your kids that will need to deal with it in the future - just don't brand me for having an opposing view. Even Labour had to concede two years ago that they got their immigration policy wrong - badly wrong, and as a result many indigenous UK residents are struggling to find work with earnings offered to pay the bills. This HAS come about by the Eastern European influx which resulted in those workers accepting lower rates of pay, and I am not sure how anyone can deny that - but again, just because that is how I fell and have said it, does make me racist in anyway.
If anything, I have far stronger views about a certain religion, but again that does not make me racist - as it is not a race of people. Nor does it make it Islamophobia - as it is not an irrational fear, there is a real threat from the radical side of this religion - who are seriously right wing, but of course there are many people that still cannot see this, and it under their very noses.
I currently live in a country where no immigrants get any social or welfare benefits (neither do the natives), immigrants by and large cannot work, unless there are no indigenous people to do the work. that is to say there is a list of about 45 types of job that cannot be undertaken by immigrants under any circumstances - it's a system I live with and approve of, and I really do not see what is wrong with it.
Immigrants in Thailand cannot work in the following areas
Shops
Farms
Restaurants
Bars and nightclubs
Do any kind of manual work
Construction work
Supervising, auditing or giving services in accountancy
Cutting of polishing jewellry.
Haircutting, hairdressing or beauty treatment.
Guide or conducting sightseeing tours.
Office or secretarial work.
Legal or lawsuit services.
plus many more......
It's called looking after your own people first, and it is fair. If you don't like it then you don't come to live here - quite simple really.
Nigel Ferage is trying to implement a lenient version of what Thailand has in place, by wanting immigrants to provide for themselves for the first 5 years - what's the problem with that? Why should they not contribute something tangible before taking it back out?

Oh there was a thing way, way, back on here - a couple of years ago. Some of what you write was extremely offensive at the time. I don't have the time or inclination to trawl back through thousands of posts and I'm sure you don't either.
The trouble with all this is that it's all being cloaked in being about immigration. It's no different to the language the BNP used, the only difference is that Nigel Farage is more palatable and intelligent than Nick Griffin.

If I was worth anything in the media spotlight, this could easily be a case. As it is, this little outburst has no impact on my life or social standing, so frankly it is not a huge issue for me. No it wasn't that, I recall being deeply shocked. You completely lost your cool over it. I don't really see caring about other people as a weakness Thai tbh. And I don't think anybody should have any right to dictate who can live on any particular land mass. Apart from the Cornish and the Welsh and the Celts, many of whom have interbred over the centuries, nobody was 'here first'.
If people from Eastern Europe come to Britain and work harder, for me that should encourage the others to raise their game not say 'right, let's close the borders, we're taking our ball away'.
The biggest problem in this country at the moment is the coalition government not some Polish and Romanian immigrants. It is all just the same language from the 60s and 70s but this time the skin colour is white so it's not 'racist'.

Even if I had said it without any basis whatsoever. Even though I don't agree with most of what Thai has to say on such issues some respect is due for his handling of my remark.It was only relevant because there will always be a tiny core of people who divide people into 'them' and 'us' but when it creeps into wider society, which in many ways is undoing the progress of the last 30-40 years, and when the major parties start to have their policies influenced to jump on the bandwagon and claw votes, that's when this UKIP thing starts to get dangerous.
It's obviously more complicated than that and people would largely stay put anyway. But when there have been wars huge numbers of people have been displaced so although people do need roots the world is not going to stay exactly the same forever.
The rule of law is important and border controls are a part of that. For me there are just way more important problems than our population increasing at exactly the same rate that it has done for 200 years. If people were just having more babies no-one would bat an eyelid, so it is a race thing.

The fact is he doesn't have a clue like the rest of them! Him and his missus rake in the thick end of £300k a year and live in a £2.5 Million London Town house and he describes himself as relatively well off! The truth is he hasn't got the first clue about how ordinary people live and cope! It is plainly obvious that he has just jumped on this populist bandwagon All this class warfare when in reality him and his mates in the shadow cabinet are just as privileged and well off as the 'Tory Toffs"! But you shouldn't expect anything different from the hypocrites in Labour!
