Am i the only person that doesn't hate him? He's been one of the few players to really get me excited. Everyone else we've played in the last few years has been monotonous predictable and in the end ineffective. I felt for him when he wasn't getting played and can understand why he wanted to leave completely. To want to leave a team he has played so well for and has just been relegated having been left out of the side consistently, whilst other midfielders were proving ineffective must be so frustrating. More than understandable in my eyes.

He'll go down as one of my favourite players thats for sure.

I don't hate him, I feel sorry for him and that in his position I too would probably want to leave. He is the sort of player that our shinny expensive new strikers needed behind them and yet we sat him on the bench until our striker were so demoralised that they stopped looking for the ball. Personally I found it maddening that we refused to play the football in midfield that we needed to to bring our top two most expensive players into the game.
Wes did go down in my estimations after his outburst but not for his transfer request, i thought that was pretty reasonable.

He was once my favourite player but there is honourable way to do things, his as a good as dead as far as I'm concerned,

startled to see such vitriol over hoolahan.

he's been an exceptional buy for the club. £250k he cost and he's served us very well indeed and served up some memorable moments. i'm of the opinion he's never quite been up to premier league standard. he was a bit-part player during all three of our top flight years (under two managers) for a reason. his best position was always a handicap at that level as he performed best behind two strikers, a role which could rarely be accommodated against such difficult teams. in league one i thought he was exceptional; likewise the championship. but his time has been and gone and i think it is in the best interests of everyone involved that he just leaves now. i would not be surprised to see him end up on another teams bench though - most teams will struggle to fit him in.

shame. because the guy is a talent on his day.

We're nearly all guilty of it, if we get off too a flying start everyone will be happy and forget.

P.S. **** it QPR have scored !

I wonder where he thinks he will go? Not good enough to get a game for a relegated team and with his best days behind him, I shan't be upset if he goes as I lost all respect for him after he threw his toys out of his platinum plated pram.
