You've got to question the wisdom in paying a Chief Executive £1.5m a year, if these are the decisions that the board make.
I don't think Neil Adams was in the 7 year plan, I think that plan will need to be revised, we will playing Ipswich on a level playing field, at best, ****ing ****ing hell
one thing is for sure, whoever the technical director ends up being is going to have to be seriously good to appease some of the fans back on side.
You can cheer all you want, but if its wrong, its wrong. I think the board should be given an incredibly rough ride over this. And they will when it all goes tits up in about 5 months time when we have blown our money sit near the bottom of the table and looking for another manager. I have no doubt the **** will be flying soon into the season.
I refuse to believe he was our first choice. We were obviously turned down by whoever that was (presumably Malky). But even with that being the case, SURELY there are better candidates out there than Neil Adams?! It doesn't even take that much to be a better candidate than him. If you've had a full season of managing a professional first-team squad you are already a better candidate than Neil Adams. I'm getting more and more furious about this by the minute.
Not my ideal choice but will support the f*ck out of him and the team. The decision has been made, let's see where it goes. Incidentally spotify have decided to play me 'Hungry like the wolf'....hope that's not an omen :S OTBC
the biggest problem with this decision is that if we start slowly (and relegated teams often do), his record is going to be shambolic (it already is but the standard of opposition gives him a little leeway). if we had an experienced man in charge, someone who knows this division at the very least, i'd have every faith in them turning it around. imagine if we lose two of our first three games, then what? the fans will turn straight away. of course, i'm only looking at the negative side and he might surprise us all - i obviously hope he does! but i just don't see it. nothing i've seen from his side or heard from him suggests he is managerial material and that is why i'm so staggered that he was a) appointed caretaker in the first place and b) appointed full time in the role.
I'm not saying I don't think it's all going to go to ****, because I really really do. But then I thought we were going to be pushing for top 10 this season just gone. I just don't understand how you all know that the season is over before the end of May. It is what it is.
Well I bloody told you so City would go for the 'cheapest option' as per usual and I was ****ing right, I got shot down for saying it but I was bang on the money. If I was a player with potential (Redmond), or who did well last season, I'd be running for the nearest ****ing exit. A guy who has not managed at any level, what confidence can that bring ? Ruddy will probably go now, Snodgrass will go, Howson will go, Olsson will go, HOOPER will go, we'll be stuck with the rubbish that got us relegated. The board are more worried about wasting more money in the transfer market that's what it is. If this goes belly up the whole board's position will become untenable. It's got that stupid bitch Delia written all over this, won't she ever learn Now I've finished my rant I would like to put on record that I have nothing against Neeyul whatsoever, I truly believe he loves this club but this is way too soon for him to be given this job permanantly. Delia, sell your ****ing shares you have now reached the end of the road !
The comments the board made about him impressing in those five games last season too... So embarrassing.
we just have to hope and pray for the sake of the team that the board have miraculously pulled a rabbit out of the hat because i think judging by the comments on here and on twitter suggest this is a decision by the board that has turned many fans against them, possibly indefinitely
well i for one would rather have hughton, a proven manager at this level, managing us in this extremely challenging division than taking a punt on neil adams, but maybe i'll be in the minority
Its not really about knowing what will happen. It could of course all work out fine but to me it would be more luck than judgement. Its about understanding any reasons to appoint him, frankly there are none. Everything points to a position of failure, there is just no evidence to support the appointment but plenty to suggest otherwise. Just asking for troublethat they could have easily stayed away from.
Sad to say that I will be cancelling my season ticket tomorrow. I'll still go to games but not all now - today has capped it all for me - depressingly poor desicion and one which will rebound on us I fear (although I sincerely hope I've got this wrong). I had such high hopes before this but I'm afraid this smells of cheap and ambitionless. Oh frigging deary me.
This is the funniest thread I have read for ages! There is so much comedy gold on here I'm going to book mark it! The comments about Saint Delia though are a disgrace after all she has done for your club!
