For those still feeling a bit down after this season, BBC Four are showing the Ripping Yarns
"Golden Gordon" episode tomight. :)

Sutton Manager,Paul Doswell has signed Peter Beadle as his new head coach Beadle spent to years at Spurs between 92 to 94,but never played for the 1st team

Former Newcastle and Tottenham winger David Ginola loves England because, unlike in France, people like to "work hard and play hard".

And shag hard, too, David.

If you follow my example, that is.

Didn't we regularly loan to Millwall when Kenny Jackett was manager ??
Spurcat might know whether the rapport was with Jackett or not.

Jackett and Sherwood were old teammates at Watford. O'Hara was the first player that I can remember going to Millwall on loan and I think Jackett had just taken over.

We loaned them Fredericks in January even though Jackett had moved to Wolves six months previously, and we loaned them a few players before Jackett took over as well (Phil Ifil had a couple of stints on loan there, for example)

If Millwall are playing the "right" way, then I guess the setup is more important than the manager.
Having said that, I recall Spurs recalling Luongo quickish from Ipswich once McCarthy became manager.

Orient suffered the fate of so many before. Hardly out of the top two, but having stormed clear at the top early on, their form gradually tapered off..... Rotherham steadily improved to claim a play off place, banging in goals for fun. The team on the up get promoted at the expense of the team they were behind all season.

Come on the Os.
Spurs need a loan club in the league below next season, now that QPR got promoted.

Just back from this game and very disappointed Orient didn't gain promotion as we have a good relationship with them and a couple of our lads were earmarked for going there on loan next season. How them missing out affects this, I have no idea.

I have a lot of time for Barry Hearn and the way he runs his football club, but to be 2 goals ahead and then 3-2 ahead going into the 4th penalty of a penalty shoot out and to then lose, must be absolutely shattering. I hope they are able to overcome this and bounce back next season.

And you lost your bet, too. <grr>

Well the loans to Swindon didn't manifest in promotion for them.
Perhaps Spurs should be ensuring the Os get appropriate loans instead.

With Hibs, Hearts and Rangers all in the Scottish Division One next season, does that mean Division One will be stronger than the PL ??

Bizarre, isn't it? Maybe Celtic could take a voluntary drop into the league below?
Missing out on promotion due to a penalty shoot out in the manner that Orient did was swiftly outdone by Hibs blowing a 2-0 lead from the first leg in the last minute of normal time, then getting relegated via penalties.

Managing to make such a bollocks of staying up like that, they deserved to be relegated!

They should've gone down without a play-off, in my opinion, but it must've been bloody painful for their fans! <laugh>
Watching the utter demise of their biggest rival, only to join them in the most miserable way possible in such a drawn out fashion...

Terry Butcher walked out on Inverness Caley Thistle who he had turned into the SPL's 2nd best team. Leaves them for Hibs thinking its a move to a bigger club (which it was by stature) and duly takes gets them relegated! Hibs, Hearts and Rangers are three of the big five (along with Celtic & Aberdeen), not sure if that has ever happened but the Scottish league is in desperate need of change, standard of football is appalling, no real star players, lack of money in the game and journeyman managers and players making a name for themselves. Oh and I forgot Samaras is viewed as a footballing genius!!
