Racing today from Nottingham, Yarmouth, Newcastle, Bath and an evening card at Warwick.

Although quality is thin on the ground today quantity is certainly not, as whenever this is the case it's very possible to find a few selections worth a punt, nothing strongly fancied but still of interest.

I am going for

Nottingham
2.30 Gold Club 5-1 Best OG
This horse is tackling it's second handicap and indications from his reappearance is that his mark is a winnable one. The horse got stranded at the back and then made rapid headway once the race was all over to finish a never nearer third. That pipe opener plus an extra furlong today may allow him to open his account.

Bath
5.10 Miss Tiger Lilly 9-4
This is only available with William Hill but I think should be taken. I can see this horse being given a positive ride and the others being unable to peg her back. Pat Dobbs is a quality jockey and as long as he gets the fractions right she will last home. I will stick my neck out and say her main market rival Happy Families will travel well behind but fail to stay. This horse should be run over a 10-12f not 13f.

Warwick
8.45 Greyswood 3-1 Best OG
This is all about the distance as the horse has not run this far before but the key piece of form was 3 starts back when winning at Bath and described in the form book as ' won going away'. I think this horse will be seen to his best upped to todays trip.

Good luck all

Just my opinion after checking out the feature race Newcastle 4.50 a class 3 extended sprint hcap.
Farlow 7/4 (Fahey/Hamilton) is currently being supported but I prefer King Of Eden 3/1 likes this track (C&DC2D3).
Others to consider would be from my top four yards in form - Gosden, Balding, Beckett, Haggas.
Nwc 3.20 Lilly Junior
Bth 4.40 Royal Warrent, Mountain Dew
Yar 5.30 Swiss Kiss (being opposed by Stoute with Royal Seal)

Interested to read your view Jonal as I looked very carefully at that race last night and my opinion was the same as yours in that I preferred King Of Eden, It was only the fact that Farlow had come in for some quite heavy support that made me leave the race alone. I definitely think one of the two wins and if pressed would still go for King of Eden.

Saving my money for the dogs tonight.

Mind the Net (evens) & Fiery Splensour (5-2 - Unbelievable early price) looks a very tasty double <ok>

cheers stick, will have a bash also i've heard from else where that Cincuenta Pasos at notts in the 1430 is fancied 14s into 8s good luck all

Beef stew and dumplings.

Afternoon, troops. The big question of the day must be why, why, why, why why, and I do mean why, why, why, why why do we need 5 Flat meetings today. Answers on a postcard, please, to the usual address. Overkill with a capital O, methinks.

Meanwhile, is today a slow news day, gee-gee wise. The front of the ‘Racing Post’ is taken up by some chap who almost won the ‘Scoop 6’ ripping up his ticket! Cor blimey if they are going to start front page headlining punters who place losing bets we all might be on there tomorrow. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more...

Bath
2.40 Ginzain 8-1
A decent price for a horse who can win in this grade on this course.

My mother rang this morning to say that whilst visiting my nanna in a care home, the healthcare assistant was looking forward to finishing work to head to Newcastle to cheer on her share in Liliargh in 5.50 at Newcastle

Apparently its the 1st time in 7 starts thats she's been told its worth going to watch the nag

Had a little bit on e/w at 16/1

Hello lads.

Nothing for me today again.

The only race I was interested in was the 3.20 at Newcastle and a decent maiden it looks to have been.

Quite taken by the Godolphin filly and the fourth placed runner who may prove to be the best of them all.

Awful ride by SDS on the second btw and its patent why his contribution from the saddle is being scaled back.

GL anyone having a play.

Bath

That is about as poorly as it's possible to read a race. Miss Tiger Lilly under quality jockey Pat Dobbs decides to get in a fight for the lead and is a spent force 3 furlongs from home whilst the winner Happy Families shows that she stays every yard of the trip by having everything off the bridle two out and staying on well to the line. The only thing correct was the price as Miss Tiger Lilly did start evens, unfortunately she paid out the same she would have if I would have taken 100-1 last night.
