All the more creditable then that the manager can motivate a mid table team to forget about the beach and think of getting something from 0-3 down against title contenders. Few could manage that. The Searchers or The Small Faces?
Doesn't look the part or have a fancy name Where the **** did you get that from, and what has that got to do with being a manager?
To be honest I think that result was more down to Rodgers failings than Pulis success. We were thinking of our goal difference and were far too attacking and open, when we should have shut up shop and took the win. I guess we knew City would more than likely win their 2 remaining games so we went for a cricket score and it back fired big time.
He got a draw against us, the result never meant Palace won the league, if he's as good as you reckon why didn't Utd go knocking on his door instead of going for the Dutchman? So hes good enough for Spurs but not good enough for a club that finished below them?
That's very simple logic. Managing the biggest club in the world and having £100M+ to spend on new players is his motivation. He has managed big clubs and had success; Pulis might get some clubs punching above their weight, but like Moyes he's no experience of winning the top trophies. Anyway, one poor season against a background of serial success is no more relevant than one good season after a sustained period of mediocrity, is it? All teams start level again in August.
Wise words Luke. Tony Pullis, AKA Tony ""the entertainer"". Premier League Manager of the year and for any doubters of what he achieved at Palace: Under rated manager who is still viewed as "Anti Football" because of his time at Stoke.
" who is still viewed as "Anti Football" because of his time at Stoke." Not anymore (and I was one of them) . As someone else suggested here the other day, the rugby football at Stoke seems to have been part wind-up part p*ss take on his part.
Liverpool and Inter Milan are interested in signing left-back Ashley Cole, 33, who has announced he will leave Chelsea this summer. (Source: The Sun) Looks like Cole is off to Inter.
They certainly like players who are long in the tooth!! Vidic 32, Cole 33. And who else will they go for???
Cole would be a good acquisition. Presumably, he'll not cost very much, if anything. His age will mean that he won't be expecting huge wages. And he'll be bringing with him a vast amount of experience and a winning mentality.
