It wasn't that bitter **** as I always change station when he's on. He still hasn't got over being fired
It's funny how even ex Arsenal players like Robson, Merson, Wright.. are soo anti Wenger. I guess in many ways he represents the antithesis of the style of play they represented. I've heard a few ex players say this but I think on the while it's exaggerated. He's certainly not the most tactical but we've all witnessed him change tactics for big European games.
Robson is anti Wenger because he was allegedly sacked by the club because of Wenger.Merson is still bitter because Wenger transfered him and I think Weight is upset but not bitter that he was also transfered
Talk of spending £100m is paper led, we're in silly season between domestic season ending and the world cup, they will write anything. I don't get excited about spending those kind of sums, as Tottenham proved last year you can use the chequebook but it you get excited and rush into buying a bunch of average players, enthusiasm will quickly turn into disappointment. I'd rather us spend £60m in areas that will strengthen us rather than play lucky dip with half a dozen or more new faces....
I think the papers get the figure of £100 million because of the likes of Tim Peyton of the AST hawking himself around every media outlet talking about Arsenal having a cash mountain of £100 million plus.Perhaps sometimes people should learn to keep ttheir mouths shut.
What about 3 x World Class players?.. That could quite easily be 100m these days. I agree a big influx of faces is not what we need but the likes of Draxler, Benzema and Bender would set us back close to 100m. This is why I think its more likely Wenger will again go for youth.
Wenger hasn't done that badly in picking players. Probably not as well as some make out either, but generally better than most managers around. I think we are going to do better next year anyway. More confidence, perhaps a few less injuries. A(nother) season under their belts for Giroud and Ozil. Perhaps Gnabry or another young player comes through. I don't think we are ever going to reach the point where we become clear favorites to win, at least not until we do win, but I think the next step is to become "Definite Contenders". I would be happy with a "solid" replacement for anyone we lose Sagna/Arteta/TV/Fabianski, and maybe one star age 25/26/27, either at Striker or Wing/Forward, or Midfield depending on who is available. I want another Ozil type signing. Now Wenger has spoiled us, I want at least one player who is going to be good enough, even when they have a bad game. I heard people slating Ozil in the final, and I was thinking, "OK, he is having a bad game and he is still looking better than any Hull player on the pitch, Nice!"
"It makes sense they will activate the clause now. A club that sees that a player is performing well for three years and has the chance of having him back for just an extra million. "If Arsenal wouldn't pay that amount they wouldn't be very intelligent. If we put ourselves in their position we will do the same. "Now, we have to analyse what can be done and how it can be done. And after putting everything in order, we will make a decision about my future; trying to choose the best way to be happy." - Guess who?
We are not going to spend £100 million in this transfer window. The Daily Telegraph journalist who broke the story says this is a rolling figure, whatever that means
Well yeah, that's what I've been saying. I was just also making the point that 100m is not that hard to spend in the current climate.
Wenger still not signed a contract and Sagna still not signed for City. Damn.. Things move slow at Arsenal. We are the kings of procrastination.
