Messi just signed a new contract with Cheatalona, £16.3m a year.
That works out at roughly £315k a week, and thats without performance related bonuses (which, seeing as he performs excellently, will probably boost his salary quite a bit).

yeah feb 2013 he signed a 250K per week deal.
You just know Ronaldo is gonna bitch now and want an equivalent deal from Real too.
Then I can't see why Barca have allowed it. He'd probably still have 4-5 years to run on that deal anyway so there's no chance of him going anywhere. Least of all because no one could now spend the 100 million + wages it would cost to buy him and comply with FFP. Shows what power some players have, even over a mega club like Barca.
Yeah he was contracted until 2018 on his old contract. The new contract has extended it a year too.
It does seem an odd decision. Messi has just had his worst season in 5 years relatively speaking, 28 goals in 31 games, which most strikers would kill for....but his previous seasons have been :
34 goals in 35 games
31 goals in 33 games
50 goals in 37 games
46 goals in 32 games
So he has his worst season in 5 years, they win nothing, yet he gets a bumper new contract when he had 4 years left to run on his existing deal......crazy!!
