FA Cup final between Arsenal and Hull today at 5.00 (Why?). I can't lose today as Arsenal are my second team, but if they go ahead I will root for Hull as underdogs. I would like Arsenal to get a trophy again, but Wenger has blown this before. I suppose most of you will go for Hull?
Hull for me Fran .....I will always cheer on the underdog. I made the mistake of predicting Hull to be relagation fodder but have in fact been impressed by them this season. 2-1 to the tigers.
When I was REALLY young I 'supported' Hull because I liked the colour orange.. thank god I grew up! I've always sort of had a soft spot for them though, if you like. I wouldn't mind Arsenal winning it either though, I almost feel bad for Arsene Wenger having not won anything for ages.
I voted DGAT but not because of apathy; I genuinely like the way both teams play and hopefully they'll serve up a cracking game. Cue 0-0 with Arsenal winning 1-0 on penalties.
Arsenal. Maybe then, we can stop being constantly told about how long it's been since they won a trophy.
Funny how time changes views. After the 2003 final and the high contrast our respective supporters treated that match and the fact more Saints fans stayed in the stadium for the trophy presentation made me a little resentful of Arsenal and if this was 2004 I would be Hull all the way. During our hiatus from the premier league Arsenal became my premier league team because of the football they played and I now think that Wenger deserves it
I was a Villa 'fan' because I liked their colours. Regarding today, Hull have been taking it easy for the past month, so it will be tricky for the Arse. But Ramsey will be the difference.
Wenger has dithered in early cup rounds, even when he had a real shot at the League Cup. He must be up for this one...he must be fed up with all this 'X number of games/years since Arsenal won a trophy.'
Arsenal, because; 1) They're my son's team (I know, I've failed as a father) 2) Charlie George, Alan Ball, and, er, Perry Groves joined us from the arse so they're sort of our feeder club. 3) Wenger is a football purist, a bit fanatical and inflexible in his views, but I admire his principles. Having said all that, I'd have given everything to see Lallana lift the cup in front of heartbroken Oxlade-Chamberlain. But as that cannot be, I'm happy to let Alex O-C win a medal.
Yes, Arsenal for me, if only because they do not sack their managers for not winning cups or championships every year when competing with profligate owners elsewhere, plus they play attractive football. On the other hand, I would love to see Bruce do his little dance again
Two teams who have nothing to do with Saints in practically any shape or form. Therefore it's either Don't Care or Hull City. I would have thought it was obvious..? Or when did cheering on the underdog become unfashionable..? Cheers for the 3rd option, Fran.
Definately Hull for me...So Arsenal fans haven't had a major trophy to celebrate for nearly a decade, well boo f**king hoo, Hull fans have never had that magical feeling in all of their 110 year history. I remember 2003, when Arsenal "expected" to beat us and took the day all for granted, our fans stole the show that day with our sheer exhuberance and good grace after losing. I also like Steve Bruce, who Wenger could learn from about being a good loser and I won't forget his kind comments about us after we beat them 4-1.
Can't see beyond Arsenal. Hull look rigid but they don't have the flair that the likes of Wigan had. Anyway, good luck to both...
