Loads, Far more than I thought. I have just facebooked the pub and asked them if they can cope with upto 100 people. That might be a conservative estimate. I am communicating directly with them now myself and I have asked them to clarify a few other things including veggie food (stainesey) so as soon as they come back with further info, I will let you all know. Will be great to see everybody all decked out and happy.
Hi Eamonn. Will be in Hennessys +1. Don't know about Alan last I heard he was submitting planning permission. Have 1or 2 angles on getting tickets and will be on the phone fri/sat. Can't wait for The Gathering 4
Thanks for the info Tramore. I'm not going back until Monday so will have to go by my hotell near Paddington station before I head to the pub.
Tramore, from Southern rail you can get a Group Save ticket, 4 people for the price of 2, but you must travel together. Would cut the cost by half.
Dave, are you fllying to Stansted or Gatwick? I know you are leaving from Stansted. There are lads flying to both airports that morning. If it is Stansted, I have texted a couple of lads I know who you can travel with. As regards hotels/B&B's. My advice is to stay out at Stansted if that is where you fly from on Sunday. Hotels in and around Liverpool St will be very expensive. Booking.com is a good website with a good range of accomodation to suit all budgets. If you book an airport hotel, just make sure they have a free shuttle bus to the terminal. Some of the cheaper B&B's are only accessible by taxi and you get ripped off on the fares from the airports. I have asked the 2 lads I know where they are staying. As soon as I get a reply, I will let you know. I hope that is helpful.
Sussex, I did look into that but it does not include the Underground in London....it was great value when we came over for the Burnley game as the overground to Shepherds Bush is included in the scheme.....sadly we can't do that next week as we will have to get the underground from Victoria.....
It will include the underground if you buy a one day travel card. We do it quite often if we travel into central London as a group and need the tube. On a Group Save you get either 3 for the price of 2, or 4 for the price of 2, so either 33% or 50% off. But remember you have to travel together. So ask for Travel Cards on a Group Save. (I think that they are only available at off peak times and weekends though)
Ok Sussex, we'll give it a go when we get to Gatwick, sure there'll be enough of us on the flight to form a group......
Dave, the two lads I know flying to Stansted are on the 8.15. You are going nearly 2 hours earlier at 6.25 or something. They are booked into a hotel on the Uxbridge Rd called Hotel 271 but they think it might be full. Maybe check it out? They are on the 13.40 flight back Sunday afternoon. That might be the same flight as you??
Me and the daughter are another 2 from the +6 and having spoke to Staines R's we also heading to kingsbury to finally meet as many fellow 606ers as possible, am now trying to sort out a hotel for Sat night as i want a decent drink, not 2 pints and then a 123 mile journey home........................ Cant wait for it to get here COME ON UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
I am loving all the camaraderie (didn't he play for Everton) being shown on here in trying to get those less fortunate than some of us tickets, the arranging for meets etc. This is what being an R is all about. Win or lose, I am so proud to be amongst the best fans in the world. Cheers all!
No, Camaraderie was the Italian kid who played with Del Boy, Boycie and Trigger in their school team.
Sorry to intrude guys but, as a regular in Hennessys, I should point out that this isn't the biggest pub in the world - upstairs holds about 150 and downstairs would be around the same. I'd also warn you that it's not far off being a QPR pub anyway. When you were in the premier league they showed all your matches live and the place was very busy - and is when you're on the box this season - so it will be crowded before including all of you you - but with Rs fans. Still, Rangers will have the run of the place upstairs and downstairs which is pretty rare in there on big match days. There's 2 other pubs nearby, one a Wetherspoons, if it gets too crowded and a Corals next door............ The possible crowding issue aside you've made a good choice there - have a great day.
