Trio to leave Rangers: Little, Perry and Hegarty head for Ibrox exit door

Andy Little is to leave Rangers after being told that his contract is not to be renewed by the Ibrox club.

STV has learned that Ross Perry has also been told that he does not have a future at Ibrox. Perry last played for the Light Blues in February 2013 and an ankle ligament injury in pre-season ruled him out of competitive action for the start of this season.

Chris Hegarty completes a trio of players who will be with new clubs next season and more players may follow through the exit door.

Little, who joined Rangers' youth team in 2006 before going on to make 87 appearances for the club, is approaching the end of his current contract and has been informed that he is not part of Ally McCoist's plans for the future.

The 24-year-old striker made his first team debut in 2009 but did not establish himself as a regular starting player until the 2012-13 season in the team that won the SFL Third Division. The forward scored 25 goals in 36 games.

The Northern Irishman, who has eight international caps, made a bright start to this season's League One campaign, scoring in five consecutive matches in August and September and played 26 times for McCoist's side this season despite a broken cheekbone ruling him out for nearly two months.

"It has been the best 8 yrs of my life," Little tweeted. "Being a Ranger has been an honour + I'll be one 'til the day I die. Thank you to all at the club."

Hegarty was one of the first players signed on a new contract by Rangers as they prepared for the 2013-14 Third Division campaign but injury deprived him of first team chances in League One.

"Both Chris and the Club are in agreement that he needs first team football and Ally McCoist has indicated that if a club comes in for him either on a permanent basis or on loan he wouldn't stand in the way, which Chris appreciates," Hegarty's agent Stephen McCranor told STV.

"He had a great season last year but was unlucky to injure himself scoring in the opening game of this season at Ibrox and missed the rest of the campaign. The season has ended at the wrong time for him as he's in great shape and ready to play.

"He remains a Rangers player at this stage but the likelihood is he will start next season at another club."

Yip get rid of young Andy Little and replace him with Kenny Miller . Sound business acumen in a styley we have becone accustomed too .

Aye, your Chief Executive is certainly earning his 100 per cent bonus this year. By the way, how many of the poor ****s who work in the background have lost their jobs so far?

It would be better if Little Perry Hegarty was one guy.

For all the use they were this season that might not be such a bad thing we would have saved some on two wages as they were all crocked.

To be fair I feel a bit sorry for Hegarty who I thought looked a decent prospect and would keep him another year. Perry's been psychologically damaged from having to play alongside Cribarri last season. I can understand why thery are letting go off Little too, but both he and Hegarty are probably both better right backs than Foster. If I'm correct in thinking the only other person we have for cover for that position is Faure. He's pretty gash when he plays there too.

No doubt they will all go on to win player of the year somewhere else<whistle>

Looks like hibs will be joining you in the 1st division next year. That league isn't going to be as easy as you think.

It was never gonny be easy with the board and manager we have.

C'mon admin 2. Our current board is a buncha theiving ****s. The only way to get rid of them is snuff the current company.

I'm particularly disappointed in Wallace. He came with good credentials and he turned out to be a fill yer boots ****.

Rangers will survive. Again. They cannot fail to survive with the fan base they have.

You would still expect rangers to win it though. Your budget is at least 10 times that of your nearest rivals.

Admin 2 isn't going to happen as that would mean these investors would lose everything. I doubt they will just sit back and do nothing after putting in 17m.

Stop copying me!

I reckon if Hibs go down (and I think they will) they will be the huns biggest test next season especially if Butcher can unearth someone who can score 20+ goals per season.

Next season will be fun for Celtic eh - we'll need some new songs 'Bring on the ?, the ? and the ?'.
