"BREAKING NEWS - Sky Sources: Man Utd make £27m bid for Southampton's Luke Shaw. Jim White Live Now on Sky Sports News. #SSN"

Man Utd haven't wasted anytime. £27m is a bit steep though.

tbf the kids a true talent, well on his way to being a world class lb. maybe we should go for him? after all we can offer European football :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He's a serious player.

What will Soton get from Liverpool for Lallana? £20m?

Was just thinking the same Tuckin. That's 2 quality players gone but £40+ in the kitty. Be interesting to see who is manager and how they spend it.

if done well, that could improve their team to push them even further, but then again, has it spurs? maybe poch will go to spurs

They haven't bought big too well so far, Wanyama and that Italian nutter didn't exactly light up the place this season. They could end up distinctly average.

Pochy leaving along with 2 of their biggest players could have adverse effects on the south coast.

Expect them to be relegated along with Leicester and Sunderland. Nailed on.

27 million, that is ridiculous.

It's not just a transfer fee, it's an investment. He could be Utd's left back for the next 15 years. Works out at £1.8m per season.

Chances are it'll work out cheaper than buying multiple left backs over that time.

Was is it with young English players and their insane price tags?

Man City have money to burn, so you can ignore the Rodwell fee. Liverpool have to plead temporary insanity over Carroll, Downing and Henderson (who is at least on the rise).

This feels different. The whole market has been boosted by the new TV deal, pushing fees up - and Shaw looks like the real deal, more of a sure thing (pun intended) than many other big buys.

Still, £27m? It's ridiculous.

What pun?
