Ever since I was a young boy,
I've watched Spurs play football.
From Burgess down to Modric
I must have seen them all.
But I ain't seen much this season
To keep me walking tall...
I wish that I could still say
âSpurs play the best football!â
Soldadoâs like a statue,
Far from a goal machine.
Missing all the chances -
A third-rate Robbie Keane.
Vertonghenâs had enough now,
His credit ratings fall.
This team just mean I canât say
âSpurs play the best football!â
Whereâs our football wizard -
Someone who has the spark?
A football wizard,
To rule the bloody park.
'Why did we buy this lot? I don't know!
Who said they were good?'
Once we had Danny Blanchflower,
Once we had Alfie Conn,
We once had Super Hoddle -
Now all those stars are gone!
We sold our Saint, young Gareth
When he heeded Realâs call -
Gone are the days when I said
âSpurs play the best football!â
Once he stood tall -
The hero, Ledley King.
But now our back four
Just let the goals rain in.
When AVB got boring,
He got the sack from Dan.
But Sherwoodâs styleâs the same now
Not like when he began!
We need someone who can manage,
Never bore at all,
And bring back the days when
âSpurs play the best football!â
Canât make my mind up about this game!
It could be a landslide to us, or it could be a niggly, miserly, tedious draw.
Oh what the hell! Last game of the seasonâ¦â¦ letâs go for broke!
Hope springs eternal!

Scorers: Kane 2, Eriksen, Lennon, Ade, Dawson

Difficult to imagine either us or Villa being in the least interested in this one. We looked like the summer break had already arrived last weekend (others may suggest rather earlier....) and cannot see that mental state changing in 7 days - especially with the continuing unrest circulating.
The welcome end to a season that promised much and delivered little but depression in copious quantities....
But on a more positive note - THANKS SPURF!!!

Should add my thanks for Spurf - I enjoy doing this, pitting my skills against the board and so really appreciate your efforts doing this. One day I aspire to make next to no errors in my league, like you!
