She was a tout. She had been warned and let off because of he circumstances, being a widowed mother of 10. Truth is that Gerry would have been top of the IRA tree at the time and wouldn't have bothered himself with such localised stuff.

Adams was/is a ruthless ****. He was and is dealing with far far worse with the British though so what can you do?

Devs 'helping a British soldier' line is straight out of some ****e romantic novel. Absolute nonsense.

Another one I seen spouted by ex British soldiers is that the IRA seen a lone British soldier walking her home after seeing her home upset after getting into a fight in a bar.

    Another nonsense.

Her killing is ****ing tragic no doubt but I would wonder what folk think about the british recruiting this woman as an informer in an area and time when the outcome would be obvious.

Dev lecturing anyone about anything like this is a sick joke btw considering his history.

I'm glad Gerry's proving his innocence on this. Hopefully, one day, he'll be first minister and will get to shake the Queen's hand, enjoy a cup of tea with her and share jokes about the McConville murder in all its hilarity.

Adams was IRA, it's a fact and I was hoping we could avoid the road that leads to whataboutery but nevertheless here we are so let me ask you a question, where did I ever say the British Government have an unblemished record?[/QUOTE]

And can you point out where I said you did say that? No,it was my contention that British Governments lie.Look at the Cold War and the protestations of innocence whenever a British spy got his collar felt in the USSR.Oh no,he was just part of a trade delegation, all governments lie.

As for Adams.Well it turned out that he was pulled on "Suspicion of being an IRA member" -and released due to lack of evidence.Presumably you can help them there because it seems from your statement that you possess the incontrovertible evidence they need to make the charge stick.

A: You don't know for certain she was a tout do you? You are simply taking the word of the murderers who have already shown themselves to be calculating liars (ie "She ran off with a soldier").

B: I never said Adams was responsible, I said the IRA were.

C: That's one of the allegations against her. I never made it up.

D: And you KNOW this is nonsense HOW exactly?

E: You beleiving the IRA propaganda, what a surprise

F: If by "lecturing" you mean "Calling the IRA bullshitters" then you are correct

You were the one who brought Britain into this, the subject was the murder of Jean McConville, did you miss that?

As for Adams you must be about the only person in the world who belives him when he says he was NEVER an IRA member. <doh>

I was at junior school with Patrick Magee.

He seemed nice, I'm sure he had no involvement with that IRA......
