Wish I was going to be there, it should by rights be the biggest party for years. This has been our most successful Premier League season ever, in terms of position and points. We have played a style of football praised by most pundits, and we will have at least 2, if not 4, players in the England squad, not to mention our other international stars turning out for other countries. And it will be the last chance to say goodbye to Guly Do Prado. The fact that we are going to thrash Manchester United almost seems incidental!
I Would like us to win but just have this sneaky feeling it will be a draw. We are not firing on all cylinders in regards to strikers. Should be an open game though!!
I know technically neither team have anything to fight for (apart from those looking at world cup). Really think we can beat united, the players will want to anyway. Plus even though they have had a bad season it's still Manchester United. I would love for us to be winning and get a last minute penalty and have lambo hand the ball over to Cork. Would be nice to see him score.
If we won a last minute penalty, the last thing I want to see is Lambert giving the ball to someone else!
I think we can win this one. Giggs wants to play attacking football, so they are going to come after us. The problem is I don't think (with Rooney and RVP not guaranteed to play) they have the players to do so. If we are pressing them it is going to make an ageing back four very uncomfortable and if they are attacking then we can hit them on the break with pace, another thing they are lacking.
Here's what will happen. Tonight: Hull shock Man U 1-0 at Old Trafford. Except no one is really that shocked, because they're really quite bad now. Wednesday: Sunderland draw to West Brom, Germany v Austria style. Thursday: The FA decide that the point Sunderland got when Ji played should have actually been forfeited after all. No one really cares. We go up to 57 points. Sunday: Man U go 2-0 up in the first half. But just before half time Vic bulldozes one back. Second half, Ferdinand deflects a Cork miskick into the net, Lambert scores a penalty (Phil Jones sent off). Pochettino puts his subs on, Lallana plays just behind a front line of Lambert, Gallagher, Shaw, Clyne and Guly. Long story short, they all score(Lallana 5 assists), Guly gets the last goal in the 95th minute, we win 8-2, finish 7th on goal difference. Everyone signs new contracts on the pitch. Shaw tells Woodward to f off on the loudspeaker. Guly flies off in a helicopter into the sunset. The end.
Would like to see Schneiderlin given another chance in the attacking midfield role. It will take him a few games to adjust so we should be patient, but he could turn out to be a bit of a weapon in this position.
